I didn't miss the fan noise. It was nice to clearly hear discussions between players & caddies.

I didn’t miss the fans either. It would have been very noticeable to the players obviously, but I don’t think it impacted on tv coverage enjoyment at all

I didn't miss the idiots screaming "get in the hole" and other such nonsense.

I taped it and watched it Sunday night and I thought the coverage was fine without the fans. No stupid drunken yelling and no bros hanging over the ropes looking for a fist bump...

I agree with the two previous posts. I think change is a good thing. When fans are allowed to attend, however, we will appreciate the drama they provide. The players seemed to be ok without fans as long as it is temporary.

I kinda missed it, but liked when you could hear the discussion between caddie and player clearly and no rough was trampled down giving them a better lie etc.

I missed the fan noise a little, like when someone stuffs a shot and it's that sudden "oooohhhh" from the crowd. Did NOT miss the Baba Booey's though LOL

Would have been more dramatic after the hole in one on Thursday(?) to hear the fan reaction but on the whole it was as others have pointed out, so nice not having to listen to the drunken and idiotic statements that have become commonplace.

It was different, for sure, but it showed us true golf. The interaction between player and caddy, the occasional exchange between players, all were good to hear. I did not miss the boorish behavior and the repetitive yelling of "You da man!", "In the hole!", and Baba Booie!" There were a couple of occasions where "fans" gathered outside the fence to observe did bring that aspect back, but thankfully it was limited.

Definitely not. The fans ruin watching golf on TV for me.

You could definitely tell which players normally fed off the crowd and how it changed the dynamic of play a bit. It was good to see enough marshals to spot shots in the rough or OB. Sad part is the lost revenue for Fort Worth. With the strongest field in years, they would have sold out tickets, hotels would be full, gifts and concessions sold, and much of that benefits local businesses and charities.

Yeah I do think its unfortunate on the financial end for the people who depend on a tournament like that. This is just the world we are living in right now, we are all losing out on some money making opportunities. I am hopeful for the days ahead!

It was a little awkward for me at first, but I liked it. Cool to watch the tour pros play like I would, without fans.

It took a little getting used to, but there were some advantages from the golfing standpoint. This is our new normal for a while yet and at least, golf has moved forward to find a way to move forward with their tournaments in a safe and responsible way. Lost revenues, etc. are unfortunate, but what would be worse is to move too fast on having fans attend and then have a huge outbreak setting everything so far back. As mentioned, I liked hte fact that the golf looked a lot more like golf when the rest of us play.

Didn't miss the fan noise one bit. Years ago fan etiquette was much better. Now I would say that half the people in attendance act like they're at a football game.

I didn't mind it either. I definitely agree about the grandstands not providing the backstop they normally do being an interesting dynamic and the player and caddy conversations were great. However, I have to agree with what I have seen some of the players saying when talking about an event like the Ryder Cup. An event like that would never be the same without fans...

I do think lack of fans changes the dynamic for many golfers out there...ie Speith who came out swinging! Even though they practice all day and done this before in front of crowds the nerves are real for some and can affect negatively for some and a point of motivation for others.

I didn’t miss it - made the players feel more relatable without crowds there to remind us of their fame

My wife and I were just talking about this. We actually enjoyed the golf without the fans. Golf is actually one sport that when televised without fans is actually better.

I thought it would be weird and very strange to watch but I’ve enjoyed it. I love hearing some of the chatting that goes on between players or the players & their caddies. I haven’t missed the crazy things that are screamed within a micro second of a club making contact with the ball. I think a Ryder Cup without fans would be much more strange as the players get fired up and feed off the crowd cheering or maybe booing. I couldn’t imagine the Rory-Reed interaction that we got to witness before with no fans around.
