Read a great article today regarding the quick transformation of Augusta National. Like almost overnight in preparation of the upcoming masters. Had to scalp the fairways in preparation for the overseeding of the winter rye grass. The greens are bent and heated so no need for a lot of prep. Hope you enjoy the content of the article/articles.

Thank you sharing such an interesting article, Chuck.

Although it may be 'basic' ergonomic science, everything about Augusta is magical for me :)

Love to play Augusta National and Cypress Point Golf Club. Visited my urologist yesterday and he said he was going on a seven day golf trip to California. Staying on property a Pebble Beach, of course playing Pebble Beach and his brother got them on Cypress Point. Todd, guess it pays to know the right people. Guess I have to be happy with having the memories of being there for the Masters over the years. It is so much prettier in person.....think it is going to interesting watching golf at the Masters in the fall.....a change might do us good during this crazy time......

While there is a brief time span from the November Masters to the April 2021 Masters (hopefully), I'm curious what, if anything, the leaders at Augusta National might have in mind to 'Bryson-proof' their golf course. They tried to do it to Tiger with limited success. I wonder if they might add some trees a bit further off the tee to take away distance without accuracy.

I don't know about "Bryson-proofing" but I do wish they would go back to shaving the fairways. I think the short rough is actually helping the less accurate players by keeping balls from rolling into the trees and pine straw. It would force the players to think more about roll-out and shot placement which was always the goal of the Masters. They grew the rough thinking it would stop players from being able to spin the ball enough to keep it on the greens but that have proven to be wrong. They just hit it higher from the short rough and it stays on the greens anyway. I don't really worry too much about the final score in relationship to par, that's more of a USGA thing. I care about the best player winning and that player hitting the best overall shots, drives, irons, and putts.

It's always amazing how the great courses can transform a course in short order. wished our city course could just transform the courses into playable all year around.. Lol

    Great read Chuck,

The key to Augusta is not necessarily distance, it is who is the best putter. If you cannot get it close to the hole and drop a number of putts, it is very hard to win the Masters. DJ won this year because he has an deadly short game and his putting stroke this year was a game we all wished we had. South Carolina's favorite son. He is a tad long off the tee as well. Bryson finished 18 strokes back in 34th. Augusta National held it's against Bryson.
