It’s been a busy week down in South Carolina as our team has been hard at work preparing the world’s best to take on the 7800 yard layout at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.
Go inside the walls of Titleist’s 42-foot-long home away from home to hear more about course conditions, setup changes and exclusive behind-the-scenes content of how #TeamTitleist has prepared for this year's PGA Championship.
First up: Titleist Tour Rep for Vokey Wedges, Aaron Dill, discusses the importance of finding and fitting players into the right high lofted wedges that match the firm and dry conditions of the Ocean Course.
Fun Fact: The Vokey Design Wedges “60 T” is one of the most popular wedges in play this week at Kiawah – so much that the Tour Truck will need to replenish their stock after this week.
We also heard from Titleist Tour Rep JJ Van Wezenbeeck to get the scoop on what changes are players making to their setups this week to battle the tough conditions, such as Ian Poulter adding a new hybrid and a stronger fairway wood for those into-the-wind holes.
We happened to stop by the truck just as Adam Scott dropped off his setup for a quick loft and lie check, regripping, and some exclusive insight into how and why Adam is suited with 14 clubs fit exclusively for his swing and game.
Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas’ bag was also nearby to be refreshed with a new set of grips. JT, who won the PGA Championship in 2017, enters the field in search of his second Major title. You can check out his full setup here.
Last but not least, we visited one of the most fun areas of the Tour Truck – checking out the various Circle T Scotty Cameron putters. Take a look at some of the gamers that will be rolling this week at Kiawah:
And here’s an up-close look at the gamer of Carolinian J.T. Poston, and the Scotty Cameron he’s trusted for the past five years.
Make sure to follow our channels this week to stay up to date with all things #TeamTitleist. We’re looking forward to a great week at Kiawah Island!
