Some people think there is always something better & at times it costs them to find out they were wrong. I went the other way and started with other balls, then re-found Titleist to still be the best after not playing golf for 12 years.

Funny thing is, I don't pick up lost balls because I won't play them. If they are a Pro V1 I put them in my shag bag. My golfing partners pick up everything they can find & use different balls throughout a round & complain about their results???

Confusing to me on how they expect to be consistent using different type, brand & style of golf balls throughout a round of golf...

I think the golf ball is an important variable that determines how well pros perform, however, Rickie has not been playing that bad lately. It is a matter of time for him to regain his game and with a little boost of confidence his game will come back.

There are other players who sadly did not qualify for the 2021 US Open such as Cameron Tringale and Lucas Glover who both play ProV1x.

Interesting connection. Could be true. I am sure its part of it but there are many factors for why rickie isn't gonna be there. But he has seemed to be trending upward lately. i hope he keeps working hard and gets back where he wants to be!

He spent months testing TM balls before signing the contract. He obviously knew how they performed and felt comfortable making the switch.

I agree with you Speedy, but the thing is that they are going to do whatever is best for their bank account. Endorsement money far exceeds purse money. Rickie will have a whole weekend to pop a couple more Corona's.

Agree. As independent contractors, it is indeed all about the $$$$$$$. Case and point about one of the greatest golfers to pick up a club, Arnie. He paved the way for athletes in getting endorsements. At the time of his death, Arnold was one of the wealthiest athletes of all time with a net worth of $700 million. And of that $700 million, only a teeny tiny fraction actually came from playing golf. Arnold's total on-course earnings were $7 million… and that's after adjusting for inflation.

Palmer was the first athlete to really turn product endorsements into an enormous money making machine that lasted his entire life. In 2015, when Arnold was 85 and hadn't swung a golf club professionally in over a decade, he made $40 million.

Well seeing that the player in question played up in Arizona (WM) having 210 in on a par 5, he lays up to wedge distance and he lost the tourney..... Saw his interview with The King and Arnie asked him if he'd lay up again or take a 4iron and bust it... He said he'd lay up.. Arnie looked at him like he had a horn sprouting from his forehead!

The guy is happy with commercial money and wife!
