Like any year at the U.S. Open, the fairways and greens are firm, the rough is thick, and the field is strong. So how does our team on-site at the Titleist Tour Truck help prepare our players with the proper tools to play their best?

Thanks to you, Team Titleist, we were posed with some great questions to ask our team – from curiosity about club changes to a peek at Scotty Cameron’s Special Edition Tour-Only U.S. Open headcover (spoiler alert: It’s pretty neat!)

Check out some of our team’s answers below and make sure to check out the latest setups of Team Titleist on our tour section.

Are five and seven woods popular this week at Torrey?

How are players adjusting their wedge setups this week?

What is the most played Scotty Cameron model this week?

Do players change their ball depending on course conditions?

Do you see players switching wedges for forgiveness in thick rough?

What do the Scotty Cameron Special Edition Tour-Only U.S. Open headcovers look like?

What request from Tour Players do you receive the most?

Have any players changed putters recently?

  2. I would love to subscribe to a yearly membership to just get exclusive putter head covers like the one made for the championship this week. Annual membership would include all customs covers for that respective year. I would pay $1200 or so for the member ship with a minimum amount of covers that one could expect. Love the Scotty Cameron line completely. Great job. Attention to detail is unmatched.

Totally agree, I like that Scotty change the day and time of the US Open special. It’s incredible how many you see on the ebay the day of the release.
  4. Great idea. I Neeeed one of those head covers!!!

We need the truck to El Paso. Cannot get to try all the Titleist products. Did get fitted by a Master Fitter at Butterfield GC(David Lopez) who did a tremendous job. Even blinded to the 7 iron, I still hit the T200 best of all other makes and models. Now to set fitted for wedges and balls!!

Pedro, you do know this "Tour Truck" goes to Tour events and is solely for access to Tour players, right? Access to fittings for more than you can get at Butterfield would lead to options like taking a trip to Oceanside CA and doing a 1/2 day fitting at the Titleist Performance Institute. You can get more information by searching on the "Fitting" tab at the top of the webpage. Most of us go the same route you did, finding a local club professional. Look forward to hearing how you feel about your game once you get the rest of your set lined up. Good luck and have fun.

Another option: during a road trip a few years ago, I had a complete bag fitting with the Titleist fitter at McLean center in Fort Worth. I found the center here in the Titleist website. He had the full spread of everything Titleist offers. A trackman fitting outside using my prefered ball [ProV1]. He did a great job and I'm still playing that setup.

Hey Rick, Jim McLean closed his Fort Worth shop and bailed fromTitleist a while back.
