  1. Apparently Adam Scott is no longer a staffer? Allegedly so is Jimmy Walker but that is less surprising than Adam Scott. Always interested to know if he just wants to make a change, be able to test other options or Titleist decided they wanted to spend their money elsewhere?

  2. I was surprise when DL3 left, but things are always changing.

Adam Scott is a great ambassador of the Titleist golf clubs, however, he deserves a chance to try to find his game. I assume he would like to tinker with other drivers and who knows... even putters.

Searched high and low and can't find which brand of clubs Adam is playing this year.

We could all probably speculate but I kinda like the professional integrity behind keeping these decisions private as most have many unique underlying reasons for a sponsorship change. Adam has represented us well and I wish him the best in his future endeavors. He has been a class act.

Sounds like the company wants to spend it money elsewhere

That would be a bummer, but no real loss other than name recognition... Those guys have not done anything spectacular recently!
  8. Yeah I saw this as well. It just says he's a golf ball player now on the Titleist website instead of a brand ambassador so it'll be interesting to see what he plays this season.

Received new TT bag tag. Thank you Titleist.

I heard this as well, and tried to do a search for a 2022 WITB. I didn’t find anything specific, but I had read an article where Scott was quoted as, "It had been a challenging season of golf for me and of course that affects my general attitude. I put so much into my career and sacrificed a lot of things, including time at home, to do this, and I just wasn't getting the results." My guess is he’s just trying to find something that will work for him.

I'm saddened by both of these TT losses. Adam Scott is one of my favorites. Jimmy Walker is up there too.

Both are no longer Brand Ambassadors but are still playing Titleist golf balls according to the information listed under the TOUR players. Some contracts are not forever. i.e., Phil, Tiger, Jack and Arnie are exceptions. Tiger played Titleist before signing with swoosh.
  13. Pro Golf is a business, not surprised in changes.I remember when Tiger left...

Adam has been an extremely low profile golfer the last few years. Hardly ever see him on broadcasts either from not playing or not playing well. Titleist certainly had higher profile options to pursue.

I've always been a big Adam Scott fan. I mean how can you not want to watch that swing over and over again? I'm sure it makes sense for everyone, but I'll miss seeing him repping my favorite golf brand.

It's too bad to, he has a great swing! However, since he got married, as with most, life changes and unfortunately, so does your golf game.

I've always liked Adam Scott. He represented Titleist and the Footjoy brands very well and the game of golf. If you hear many of the up-and-coming professional golfers from down under, many cite Adam Scott as a positive influence; someone like Cameron Smith is a perfect example.
  18. I suspect he found something more intriguing from a club perspective. I can't imagine it's about money. In terms of the contract, does he violate the contract for even testing a few different brands or is it simply that he can't play tour events with other brands? In other words, was he out there on his home course playing with TM to test them out?

There's a reason so many Senior Tour players have moved to the Edge maker. Their clubs are not necessarily better for Senior Tour players, but for a core group of followers (retirees) the pricing is advantageous. Sponsorship is a 2 way deal. The Seniors don't attract as much attention as the top 50 on the regular tour. We don't need to speculate which party was a major factor in the change. The details will never get past that.

What caught me off guard is the recent release of the 620 MB AS prototypes, as well as the JT version prototype. I assumed the relationship would still be long term.

Don't know how accurate this is but I just read an article that said he and Titleist are parting ways but he is still under contract to play Titleist clubs through 2022. Like I said though take it for what it's worth, not much.

Golf Digest just did a piece about the new Player Partnership Program. Everyone is talking about the Player Incentive Program where they get money for social media popularity but this Player Partnership Program has the tour right in the middle of player/agent relations with current and potential sponsors. I can see how this might develop into leveraging that might play into more frequent bouncing around between sponsors. I am not fond of the current MLB free agent system as it seems to have gotten out of hand so hopefully the PGA Tour will not interfere too much.

You'll see more of the Ricky Fowler type stuff with a club and ball deal. You've got Reed with PXG but using his own irons. Brands with less tour presence willing to do smaller deals or only for a few clubs. Having 3 brand deals so you can constantly post on your socials with every hashtag under the sun.

Quite possibly the decision was based on his NOT receiving the Team Titleist bag tag and stickers in the mail!

Right on the money, Barry. I think that's EXACTLY the reason! ;-)
