Hi TT! I have a Scotty Cameron Select 2.5 putter and am wanting to switch my grip out to a mid size grip similar to the Winn 1.5 or the SuperStroke Mid Size grips. I have checked the Scotty website and they appear to have some oversize putter grips, but the website states "SOLD OUT". Does anyone know if this is a temporary situation until such time as inventory is resupplied? Or are these being treated as a limited production run and when they run out - they run out never to be produced again? If it is the former, does anyone know what the most comparable size putter grip would be? I have invested in my Scotty and I love the putter, but would love to put a Scotty grip rather than a Winn or SS grip. Maybe one of the TT Staff will have access to this info too! Much thanks in advance! D.
  2. Hi Dino,

Though midsize Matador grips are sold out on the Scotty Cameron website, you are still able to purchase them through any authorized Titleist retailer in your area.

Hi Chris...thank you for the feedback. So my local authorized Titleist retailer can still order it? They do not normally carry these items in their own inventory. D

Usually if you call the Studio Store they will let you know that it's a temporary thing and they may be able to provide an estimate of when they will be back in stock.  Just keep an eye out as they restock regularly.

my experience is that most of the local shops in my area (Philly burbs) might only carry the very basic Cameron grips and that might have been a fluke. I'd check with Cameron and probably call them and ask questions. They might even be able to tell you which shops in your area has ordered them in the past. steve
  6. Hi Dino,

Great insight from DMAC and Stephen above. Though golf shops might not carry them in stock, they are able to place a grip only order for you through our customer service team.

Thanks Chris. Will do. I have a scheduled fitting next week at the Titleist Regional Fitting Centre (915 D2/D3 and F/Fd). I will also discuss the putter grips, etc. with them. D

It seems like you have a good plan, but for anyone else who is looking for a particular Scotty grip, it seems some of the Scotty grips are always sold out on the site.  And when they do come back, it isn't for long.  However, they are still available from authorized dealers.  Check around, I'm sure someone can order one for you.  Or at the very least, give you an idea when they will be available.

Thanks TDogg ... I noticed that about the Scotty Cameron site ...every time I check in, the items that I am interested in are marked as sold out! From what I have gleaned here on this thread is that I should be able to get them through my Fitting Centre. Will keep everyone apprised as to how it goes with the grips! D

Same here.  One day I went there for something else and the grip I wanted was in stock.  But I was busy and didn't order it right then.  By the time I went back, it was sold out.  I would guess it's going to be easier to just deal with your fitting center.  Let them order it and deal with any back-ordering issues.  Good luck and let us know how it works out.  I'd be curious to know if they can get one ordered even if it's "sold out" in the online store.

The PGA superstore always has all the Cameron grips in stock.  Check online or if you live in an area where they have one, call or go on down.  Good luck!

Hello all, thanks for the feedback! Just to follow up, I went to my Regional Titleist Fitting Centre for a different club fitting, but I did manage to order a new Scotty Cameron Matador Mid-Large 11" grip ... which was recommended as the best mid size/oversize putter grip option similar to the SS or Winn 1.18. I will follow up once its rece3ived! Thanks again everyone, D.

Switching gears a little, does anyone on the thread have experience with after the midsize grip is installed?  I'm finally taking the plunge and going with a larger Cameron putter grip on my Sonoma, however its not the heaviest headed putter.  Do people have experience with adjusting the weights, and if so, what has worked for you? Is the difference noticeable at all?

I've resisted for so long because i've heard some horror stories about losing feel and distance control - not sure i buy it, but thought I'd go to my trusted source for info. thanks all!

I put a 17" SS 1.3 on my Deture and I will not go bak. Just feels right.
