I just got a chance to get my hands on his new Limited Release H24 Phantom 9.2. I have mixed thoughts on this design. Does anyone actually game a $950 putter? Or are these intended strictly for collectors?

All up to you. Did you buy after deciding it would be an improvement over your current gamer? The more it is used that much more will decrease the collectors value. There is no guarantee it will be worth more even if just hung on a wall.
So, you can use it as a tool or treasure it as a jewel. Personally, all my clubs are tools. A $900 club would need to really outperform a $400 club for me to spring for it.
I do have a 1980 Tour issue set, including 1-3-5 persimmon woods. I keep them as jewels as it was immediately clear they were not a fit for me. I need to sell them so my wife doesn’t donate them to Goodwill so they can sell the set for $50.

Since they didn't make the H24 in LH, I don't have one, but these "Limited Release" putters are not collectible. There are far too many in production these days, and in many cases can fall below SRP not long after release (see B3 Triple Black). The tour putters (CT) definitely fall into the collectible category, but I know many that game them, myself included.

I game the 2010 Limited Del Mar and have for nearly 15 years now. I abslutely love it and it was worth every single penny. Yes, it was expensive, but if you look at the price/round, it's been a great deal for me.
It's all in the perspective ;)

I am not much different than others on this thread. It if would help my putting, I would not hesitate.

The problem is that they are being bought for resal on ebay at a increase of $300 and up. Kind of keeps customers who want to buy can't

Thanks for the replies. I decided to game it and so far so good. After all, it’s a putter and if it gives me confidence over the ball, it’s worth every penny. Just don’t tell my wife…:)

I asked the same question on the Triple Black LN release. I put it in the bag and I love it! That was my first Limited Release to purchase and after having it for a few months now I do believe that I made the right choice to game it. If it were one of the Studio Designs maybe it would be a different story but as some have already said, it’s a personal choice, I’m happy with my modest collection that have all seen playing time. I hope Scotty does a LN Newport 2 in the standard look and style one day.
  10. Even if you game it, it still is worth it's value and more down the road. I was lucky enough to get the H22. I put a different head cover on it right away, and I have gamed it a few times. Not sure what I am going to do with it, but if and when I decide to sell, I am quite confident I will make a profit.
Side note: I have 3 other Scottys that I game and go back and forth with.
