  1. Hi, I just wanted to make everyone that there is an on-line store which I believe to be a scam (weshopstore). They are advertising Titleist golf clubs at a "way to good to be true price" (712 AP2's at $399.00). It would be nice if Titleist/FootJoy had a section in here where they kept us up to date on such scams. The said site has only an email as a reply component for contact......it has broken english on it's "about us" page.....it says it is a "no tax" store........ships free world wide........will list package as a gift so no duty has to be paid......and when asked why I could not access the reviews section of the website it was promtly no longer a feature on the site......I accessed this site via a facebook add. My guess would be the clubs you recieve will either be counterfit or you will recieve nothing at all. These are all clear signs of a scam, has anyone else come across this site or others like it. If you want the real thing please visit your local PGA Professional....... had to throw that in ...lol

If is too good to be true, it is a scam. Even in my line of work we eliminate a vendor if its only method of contact is email or a foreign phone number. I've bought stuff online from e-Bay (used only), Pinemeadow Golf, "Golf Clubs and More", Global Golf , Louisville Golf, Golfworks/Golf Galaxy and Golfsmith. They all have toll free numbers and offer good support.

I saw that site on Facebook and it is a bit ridiculous. Rocketballz irons for $350.

It's certainly shady.  That's why it's best to just deal directly with Titleist or a Titleist authorized dealer.

I avoid online purchases for this very reason.

I definitely don't buy guitars online since I have to play them to make an informed decision. I wouldn't buy name brand clubs on line new. If I'm going to drop that kind of money on a set of golf clubs, I'm going for a full blown fitting. e-Bay is way overpriced but has good availability for used clubs (to replace missing clubs in your set).

I reported it to Facebook because I also saw it there.

Saw the same site via Facebook. It does look to good to be true. It would be nice if the folks at Titleist would comment.

    Hi Victor,

Thanks for the post. As a few of the posters above have noted, if a deal seems to good to be true, it most likely is. Your best bet to ensure you purchase authentic Titleist equipment is to always buy from an authorized Titleist golf shop. Here is a link to our shop locator:

Also, feel free to check out our brand protection page that has additional information on how we protect our intellectual property along with tips on how to spot fakes and what to do if you believe you have purchased counterfeit products. Here is the link:

As always, feel free to contact our brand protection team at ip@acushnetgolf.com if you have any additional questions. Thanks a lot.

    Best,

    Mike

  11. The world is flooded with counterfeit golf clubs and until the world is educated so very little will change. I believe the major golf companies would be better off advertising the scale of the problem more than their own products and the sale of their products will look after itself. PaulG
