Titleist usually doesn't have people such as us test out there clubs, that's what the pros are for. However, they do send out random golf balls for members like us test. The more active you are on this site, the greater chance you have at receiving these golf balls. Best of luck!

We do use everyday players to test the equipment and give feedback. The only caveat is that we would like you to live within 20 minutes of our Oceanside facility as schedules can change rapidly.

Thanks Cathi,
I thought I seen a report or news artical that came out about different average golfers with all ranges of handicaps across the country that tested equipment and sent back feedback?

Thanks for the post. As Cathi noted above in her reply, we do use everyday players to test the equipment and give feedback. However, we usually test with players that live within 20 minutes of our Oceanside facility as schedules can change rapidly.
Thanks again and I hope this helps clarify.

Thanks Mike,
Does conditions come into factor when testing equipment? I would think that different climits and different course would come into factor? For example, I play down south and there is allot of sand under the grass and I play in PA where I live and its constant dirt and clay. When I first started this post I had read somewhere and I'm sorry I don't remember that a equipment company had test pilots all over the country that was anywhere from a scratch golfer to a 15 handy cap testing equipment all over the country and sending in feedback. I was just seeing if this was Titleist? I have used your clubs, bag and balls for over 27 years. Brian

Randy p I used to receive the latest 6 iron from Titliest every year. I'd use it and give my feedback.. Then, just like that it stopped. I purchased new irons 3 different times after I had tested the new model. You cant tell me that the ameture golfers don't have an impact on your bottom line. I'm not a rich person by any means, but I am sworn to the Pro-v1 golf ball. Wouldn't use anything else. It would be nice to know you are still targeting the 95% of us weekend golfers. This business is all about money now, who can sign the biggest pros. What brand that can stand out the most on TV. We all have dreams of being a pro golfer, for most of us, it's just a dream. It would still be nice to know we are still important to you. I think some things need to change in the way you do things. There's one company out there that still believes in sharing with the average golfer.
Thanks for the post. I just wanted to hopefully clarify a bit on the topic.
Player testing with amateurs is still a very important component to our R&D and product development process. We just completed a product test panel with more than 40,000 Team Titleist members last year as we developed the new performance line of Titleist golf balls (http://www.titleist.com/teamtitleist/b/tourblog/archive/2014/01/22/titleist-advances-performance-in-2014-with-new-nxt-tour-nxt-tour-s-velocity-and-dt-solo-golf-balls.aspx).
As you can see, we are very committed to working closely with all golfers throughout the process.
Hope this helps shed some light and thanks again for the post.
Cheers,
Mike

I can personally vouche for the fact that Titleist does select players from the widest aray in the game. I have been to Manchester Lane in Achusnet MA serval times to test clubs. Over the 5+ years I have been involved with Team Titleist I have to say I have had the pleasure of testing the 910 when it first came out. It was a very special day as we not only got an inside look at the Ball Plant where just about every ProV or ProV1 is made. We then were introduced to the Sure-Fit technology used to deploy in the metal woods. At the same time we where fitted for wedges. During that fitting I found the bounce I needed for my game. A few years later, the 913 had been seeded on tour, and a few of us were asked to come down and give it a try. After a great fitting session with Karen Gray (Best Fitter in the business, hands down) I was set up for my 913 D3 with a Graphite Design Shaft.
My best advice, stay connected, keep contributing, and enjoy your time in the community and you will be rewarded one way or another.
Thanks

I was wondering about this myself because I live in New Hampshire however the course pro is on your team titleist equipment testing list. I was wondering if it is possible for me to do this because I would really love to!!!
Christopher Nsan marcos, CA
Hi Cathi! I would love an opportunity to test some Titliest equipment. I live in San Elijo Hills (San Marcos) and work in Carlsbad off Loker where one of your sites are located. Let me know if this is something that would be possible! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi Christopher, Thanks!
I am going to IM you with some questions so we can get your name in the tester database.
Lou GSan Diego, CA
Cathi - Is Mira Mesa considered close enough? I would love to do testing.
Hi Lou, Thank you for offering, but, they prefer all the testers be within 20 minutes or so because the tests are run on a very tight schedule.
Bryan HOceanside, CA
I do live just a few minutes away from the Oceanside facility. I also work from home....and have ability to spend time at the facility. How can I apply to be an equipment tester?
Dr. KovatchianCarlsbad
I used to be a part of the Titleist Consumer Testing Group in Oceanside....Good Times!!!
The TPI and Test Facility are amazing and the staff treated every person that walked in the doors like professionals.
I'm not sure if she is still involved in the program but Barb P. is a gem....always enjoyed conversing with her while warming up to test some products in a perfect setting...

The best way to get test equipment is to be a tour pro. they have the skill to provide the feedback. Many feel that the amateurs should test equipment to give manufacturers feedback on how clubs do in mis-hits. Thre may be validity to that, but what we need to know if how good clubs react to good strikes, IMHO.
