anyone else have a club cleaning ritual ?

Mine is alway the same.  The cleaning is alway done the night before I play. I put a bath towel  on the floor and put all my clubs in order leaning against the counter.  First I scrub the club face and grooves, then return to the first club to clean all of the grips with warm soapy water.

I love starting my practice session with pristine clubs and tacky grips.  I know its going to be a great round each time.

Mine is very similar,, and after a good round will clean them before putting them away, I kind of stare at each clucnb thinking what shot I hit with it.  I even clean the clubs I didn't hit that day if any.

I always clean my club after a shot, no matter what it has to be clean for the next shot.

I always clean my club after a shot while playing and then give them all a thorough cleaning after the round.  I'll usually clean my grips about every other round, but I try to never lay my clubs down with the grip touching the ground.

I think I'm a fanatic, this is what I do.

I usually go to a range once or twice a week.  After each session, I go to the wash bucket and wash the face first to see if there are any new dings,  I then look under to see what kind of dirt shows, am I swinging straight or am I cutting across, my markings to me should be 90 degrees off the face for pure strikes.  After cleaning, each club has a cover and its on.

During a round, I would wipe each club clean after each shot, no excuses.  After the round, I clean all 14 clubs face first, bottom. back, by scrubbing with a brush.  I then wipe down the head, shaft, and grip.  I then place a little touch of WD-40 over the head and then rub it in with my hand and slide my hand down the shaft for a light coat to make it shiny.

I then cover it a wipe down the grip before placing in the bag.  If I don't play a round and only to the range I clean my WD-40 ritual every 45 days or so.

    Im nuts.

Every range session I come home and groove clean, wash, and microfibre irons. After irons I use a brush on the face of my woods, then finish cleaning with a finish of wax and chamois on them (sans face). All purpose cleaner on headcovers as needed. towel is taken off of the bag and washed if it was raining or muddy, rotate the second towel in rotation. Any and all balls used are cleaned, inspected, and returned to the bag if not scuffed or damaged in any way if a round has been played. Stand bag legs and base cleaned up. Heck, I even have a cargo blanket that comes out of the car... shaken or washed as needed.

I clean my clubs after every round. I usually grab all my irons during a commercial and clean with soap and water and a soft white brush. Takes me a few minutes and i am ready for the next round.

Amen. I do it even on the range.  Too much grit on your face will wear the grooves out faster.

  11. I am the same as Todd, after each shot and clean grips once a week...easy to do at range.

I usually clean my clubs the day after I play. I keep the clubs in my trunk so I clean them outside. The fun part is usually a neighbor or two will stop by to chat. A few times my club cleaning has turned into a neighborhood happy hour in my driveway.

I clean my club after every shot and fully clean clubs and grips the night after a round. I play two to three times a week, a bit obsessive compulsive and love keeping all my titleist golf gear shinny and clean.

I always clean my clubs after shots and defintiely clean them (in order) at home the night before each round.  I have always felt a little OCD about doing this, but as silly as it sounds, I do feel like I play better when the sticks are shining.  Now that I am gaming the 714 AP2s, I wouldn't dare take away from the looks of those beauties in the bag!

I am also extremely diligent about cleaning my clubs.  I wipe the club face clean after every shot and then when I get home after each round I wash all of my clubs with soapy water.  I had a club finish spotted by fertilizer on a course a few years ago so ever since then I make sure to always clean all my clubs.  I find it also helps prevent my bag from smelling.

  16. I clean my clubs after each shot and then clean my entire bag a bit more thoroughly post round. Also, I usually lay out my clubs at home to dry if I've played in heavy rain and my bag is drenched.

The clubs are cleaned all the time after each shot. Wish I had a caddie to do that so I wouldn't need to worry about it. My clubs and grips are cleaned after every round. It is like quality time with my Titleist babies. Love your equipment and they will love you back!!!

I thought I was a bit obsessive when it comes to clean clubs, but it looks like I am in good company... and maybe not as obsessive as some others!  I always want to make sure my club face is clean of dirt so I can't blame the equipment, only myself for any bad shots.  That's why we want perfect equipment, so we can take the equipment variable out of the equation.

My cleaning regimen consists of cleaning each club after each shot and before I return the club to my bag.  If you don't have clean grooves on the club then they will not work effectively.  I always wonder what people are thinking when they have all kinds of dirt built up on their club face... it just does not make sense.  The old adage of "the more you clean it, the easier it is to clean" really applies when it comes to golf clubs.

The only time I don't clean the club face after every single shot is when I am out on the range.  I will normally hit several shots on the range before I clean the face.  This is more from a time perspective and from a focus perspective.

I agree take care of them and they will take care of you! Face gets wiped off after every shot with a damp towel I carry, and grips wiped down after a couple, depending on conditions. Then once a week, every club gets a good brushing, grooves, back, shafts get wiped down and grips also. Like mentioned before, after a rainy round, everything comes out of bag to dry and get cleaned. Love my Titleist clubs, spent good money and no reason to ignore them!

Clean after  every  shot and  clean  at home  after  the  round. Clean  grips every  two weeks and bag once  a month.

Yes I have a club cleaning ritual .Have to clean my clubs the night before I play, start with the club heads scub and clean the groves, scrub and clean the grips, wipe down the shafts, let dry .

Clean my golf shoes, check the spikes, replace any worn spikes make sure all are tight, move throughout my golfbag and clean any dirty balls remark them if need be.Make sure to mark all new balls.Remove any non Titleist golf balls from the bag.

My wife thinks I am obsessive, with the cleaning ritual,I explained to her that this is pregame, plus it gives me a chance to look over my gear for any problems.
