Chris MGrindelwald,
Being a good flight player, I always have some liquer in my bag to celebrate a birdie with the others.
I usually carry a nice Scotch (Oban, Balvenie, Glen Fiddich) with me.
What do you guys have in your bag?

No alcohol, just water. Drinks after the round.

Laphroig Scotch Whiskey and a flask of Crown Royal - you never know when you will need to toast to an ace.

As a rule I do not drink during a round. Rarely a light beer at the turn, but Rarely. After the round it's Jameson Irish, or Glenfiddich Scotch (18 if they have it). Drink responsively and you will drive better, and putt better......

Water and a tube of Nuun. I'm pretty serious about my game and golf is hard enough without being buzzed. I do have some buddies that seem to play better when drinking. I typically say they need a few drinks to keep their carburetor primed.

Noooo alcohol! Playing golf is difficult enough. I just have water. If ever I hit a hole in one I will high five everyone and then buy drinks at the clubhouse.

I normally have a few drinks during a round, usually just Coors Light. However, I have been drinking Vodka Lemonade more often and the wife got me a flask that I plan on taking, filled with Grey Goose to add with Lemonade from the course.

My wife picked up a bottle of that the other day. Definitely an acquired taste.

I do not drink if possible on the course...if I do a beer is the preferred choice..
I would not drink anything I could not pronounce the name of! LOL

I don't go out without some brews in the cooler. I don't usually have any during play but if it's a crappy day it makes it's appearance, helps cut the tension for me.

Wild Turkey Honey. Love it on ice.
Crown Royal. Nothing like a Crown n Coke when the game isn't going well!
Steve LFramingham, MA
I don't drink when I play, I take my golf too serious.

Jim Beam Red Stag.

For me its Water or a sports drink for hydration. I walk and carry my bag.
Personally I'm a beer person. As long as I'm riding, there is a cooler with some beers with me. It might cost me a stroke or two by the end of the round, but these days I play golf strictly for the fun.

There's always room for a few beers on the course! Like most, if I'm having something to "celebrate" I hope it's for the elusive hole-in-one, and in that case, I'll be partying in the clubhouse.

Normally Jameson's Irish Whiskey. It is for medical purposes, in case of a snake bite. There are no snakes in Ireland so I figure if I keep it in my bag, I am good. I normally only carry it in the cold months, sort of an antifreeze. On occasions, have been known, as one person on this site might attest, to have some of the finest moonshine made in the state of South Carolina. A gift from a dear friend.

Heineken, with ice, in a cooler that fits in my bag. Prefer to think of it as "Swing lube". But only for casual golf, never in a tournament or serious match.
Trevor DBragg Creek,
When you say the birdie celebration, it reminds me of a time I played the Old Course with my dad and got paired with a couple of Swedes that I swear, forged their handicap cards. They were awful. I made a birdie on the third hole and on the fourth tee, one of these guys whips out a 60 of vodka and takes a huge swig. He pushes the bottle at me and says "for your birdie?" I declined and he proceeded to offer it to my dad, our caddies and his buddy. His buddy was the only taker. They were removed my a marshall on the fifth hole lol.

Two seasons ago I started a new tradition. I carry an 8 oz. flask of Canadian Whiskey with me. I also carry 4 plastic shot glasses. Before teeing off on hole 6 and hole 15 I take a shot of whiskey and offer a shot to those I am golfing with as well.

Think I need to explain that playing in Switzerland it's a tradition to offer a drink after each birdie
Also I usually don't drink on course, but sometimes a drop helps
Just sounds a bit strange from some of you guys to take it "that serious". Come one in the end it still needs to be a bit of fund (surely not being drunk or dizzy) and I'm sure none of you is earning money for living with playing golf :)

Christian, I like the Swiss tradition , after a birdie. And yes some do forget it's supposed to e a game of fun.I get mad with myself if I flub a shot but hey it's only a game right? Cheers, hit um straight, Dave...

We bring liquor only on a couple of charity tournaments a year. Fireball is our shot of choice, just before shotgun starts
