Hey team Just wondering who has assessed their 2016 season and what your plan going into 2017 is and how you hope to achieve this Equipment Practice drills Playing more tournaments, etc

Here is mine Equipment I switched over from a Newport to a 8802 style putter. Basically I spent the last month trying different styles left the Newport and came to the conclusion that the 8802 blade style was very easy transition and proved over and over again to allow me to put a. Enter stroke on the ball. I have a decent amount of arc in my stroke. The look at address was fantastic. End putter I went with Odyssey metal x 8 34" I got this for dirt cheap an just had to replace the grip As much as I would love to get into a Scotty napa I just can't afford it. (Here's hoping Scotty comes out with a new release that might put the price down to at least a typical off the shelf cost)

Game results/practice I didn't play up to my standard of game this year partly due to I played baseball competitively again this summer and took away from practice and rounds played. My handicap went up about 1.5 index points. Currently sitting at 6.4 index For next summer I am putting together a practice for myself to address my weakness which is lag putting and GIR. I also want to finally play in my provincial amateur event which is 3 rounds. A hard to obtain goal of making the provincial team is my ultimate goal as well as get the handicap back down to the 4 range.

My season starts as always with high speciation's and usually ends with the same handicap. Although I have not played a round this month due to weather my months ago I moved up to the senior tees and what a difference in score and fun. The difference between the regular men's tee and the senior tees is only 500 yards but that difference is a lot more than just the distance in tee boxes. handicap this year has dropped three strokes. How did this happen ? About 3 On some tees there may be only a 10 yard difference in markers but on uphill shots that 10 yards allows the ball to fly over the crest of a hill instead of hitting into the upward slope of the hill giving in reality about 30 to 50 more yards. There was a little grumbling with some of the opposition when I moved up but now more of them are doing the same. For 2017 I expect tp lower my handicap even more whiht all of my rounds played from the senior tees.

2017 - Working on my alignment, address and tempo are things I always focus on. Also to work on my putting stroke and timing. Maybe adding a new cart bag. Spend a little more time practicing. Play a few more Senior Tournaments.

2016 - Added this year: 917f2 115* and 816h1 17*, SC Newport 2 Select, GolfPride MCC +4 Midsize grips to all my clubs, the new GolfPride Tour SNSR Contour Putter Grip to my Scotty. Replaced my 714 AP2s XP 95 S300 shafts and SM5 wedges with the 716 AP1s XP105 S300 shafts and SM6 Wedges XP105 S300 shafts. We found that I was incorrectly fitted for the AP2s. Also, Folds of Honor Tour Staff Bag.

My game plan for 2017 is simple. Find a swing instructor that works for me. I played well off and on this year. I got a whole new set of Titleist clubs this year & realized that even though I was fitted for them my swing did not let me lower my hdcp. BUT I did avg 31.6 putts, GIR was not so good 28% up/dn was 34% driving was 38% so have lots of room for improvement. Mainly I didn't get to the range ass much this year so going forward RANGE TIME is becoming a priority in 2017.
Try to relax more about my numbers and stay focused..........

Thanks for the post Spezza made me realize 2016 wasn't a total lose.

Though I haven't officially assessed my season, I would call it a success. I hit more good shots than bad, improved in areas that I felt needed work, lowered my handicap, and stuck to my game play/ course management. I will continue the same for next season with hope of getting back to scratch, however, that is dependent mostly on how many rounds I can play.

mine are to become a better putter and increase swing speed by 5%
  7. My plans are to get stronger and work on my game as much as the weather will let me to get ready for the US Open qualifier in May . No new clubs, might go from KBS tour x to project x 6.5s in my irons but not sure yet.

Disappointed that over the last 3 years I've lost 5 mph driver speed. Hard to accept at 67. Instead of just hitting heated driving ranges and pounding buckets of balls, will be working with my instructor and my gym instructor with various goals to correct flaws, improve to the best me physically (including some weight loss), then use the ranges as part of the optimization. Changed out all the clubs to match where I am and not where I thought I was going. Only need two things now - spring and the 2017 Pro-V1.

    Hi fellow TT gang,
While most of you are putting your clubs away over winter, here in Australia our summer is just starting. I have been fortunate over the last couple of years to spend some time on the course with a couple of Aussie pros you may have heard of.
I participated in a charity golf day with Adam Scott, where we played 100 holes in a day.
I have also had the chance to play in the Australian Masters ProAm with Alistair Presnell who plays the Web.com tour.
The confidence I gained through testing my game against these guys has helped me drop my handicap from 2 to +1.
I am playing the best golf of my life now in my early 40's but still want to improve a few things in my short game. For those of you with aspirations to improve your game I recommend finding the best player at your club and join them for a round or two. It will do wonders for your game.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Mark

That's a great price of advice to play with better players something I've heard and consider a very important tip. Just watch and pay attention to their decisions and how they get around the course.

Also pretty cool you got to play that event with Adam Scott!!! Cool story
