  1. Fellow TT-Members,

I am planning on scheduling a club fitting in the next week or so and was wondering if the TT community had any comments on where? A Titleist certified retailer or certified Club/CC?

    Any suggestions/opinions welcome!

Michael, there is really only one place, IMHO. TPI in Oceanside. If you want to really treat yourself, make an appt. It's an experience you'll never forget. I've done it 3 times. Each time has been better than the last. Keep us posted!

I always get fit with a Certified Titleist Fitter that is outdoors so you can see ball flight and has a monitor such as Trackman or Flightscope.

Michael, I have had two fittings and both have been excellent. I visited the TPI institute in Oceanside CA for my iron fitting a couple of years ago and it was outstanding. I recently was fitted for my 917D2 in November at Jim McCleans near Dallas. I received the recommendation form Cathie from TT on my Dallas location. You did not mention where you are located but I am certain TT will provide some options for you based on your location. Good Luck with your fitting andI am confident you will enjoy your new clubs.

Find an outdoor facility with track man
  6. Has to be a Titleist approved club pro with a Trackman session. Good luck.

You definitely want to find a Certified Titleist fitter in your area. Outside fittings are the best and using trackman is a must. If you are lucky enough to be in a warm weather area that is still offering Titleist Thursdays free fittings, I strongly recommend you take advantage of that opportunity.
  8. Previously I have only done big box store fittings, and was told basically I was just standard off the shelf. Then I went to a Titleist Thursday and came away very impressed with the time and detail the fitter spent with me (I also got a driver and 3w). It was definitely not a standard off the shelf fitting. So my recommendation would be to find someone through the titleist website that fits using Tracman or something similar. What I deem as my first proper fitting has truly helped me hit more fairways off the tee than I ever have before

I would recommend trying to find one of the tour fitting or advanced fitting centers new you for the best fitting possible.

After that I'd say a certified club/CC as you should be hitting outdoors and I like to see my ball flight whenever possible.

If you can go to a fitter who has access to an outdoor range I would suggest that. Most any decent fitter will have a launch monitor for things you can't tell from just hitting a ball at at screen like spin rate, side spin, ball speed, etc. like at a golf store with a sim but nothing beats seeing the ball fly for the full extent of the shot. Good luck!

The best fitting will be outdoors using a Trackman/doppler tracking descent in addition to launch. You can also tell more by watching the actual ball flight.

I never feel comfortable hitting balls in a simulator thus I prefer an outdoor setting. I highly recommend the Ft. Worth Titleist Regional Fitting Center. Excellent fitter (Kyle) and facilities.

Hello Michael, I am planning on getting fit next week as well. I happen to have a couple gift certificates at a chain store. They are rated as one of the top 100 fitters in the country. I don't want to lose the certificates, so I guess I'll go there.
    Play well,

I suggest getting fit with a Certified Titleist Fitter. It doesn't matter if it's at a retailer demo day, golf course demo day or a country club. Just so long as the person works for Titleist.

Main thing is get fit. I went to a Titleist Certified Fitter in Lexington Ky he was great now that I have right setup I have dropped several strokes per round.

Anyone certified by Titleist should be good... If it was me, I would support my local club IF they were certified by Titleist... Not sure where you live but check out this site, I've attended these before and it's a lot of fun.. Always worth getting a few opinions...

Good luck and keep up posted!
  17. It depends...I would prefer a Titleist Retailer since they will be familiar with Titleist Products. Some Club or Retailers will be set up with back room deals for certain manufacturers and will not steer you in the best direction for your game but rather their sales.

Thus, I would recommend you call Team Titleist Customer Service and see which fitter they recommend for your area. They know many of the fitters so they can steer you in the best direction!

    Good Luck!!

Really depends on your situation and luck... Some retailers may do a great job, they may have exactly what you want and they may have hitting bays that work for you to easily see and find what you want. There are good peoplethat work at many of them. The same goes for a club. most clubs you can hit at the range and see the ball, and most clubs have a Titleist fitter that represents the area and can come doa fitting at the club and bring what you need.

You could always try both and see what you feel the most confident with.

I got my fitting by a PGA Golf instructor that I had been taking lessons with for a couple of years. He has been a certified instructor for 20 years sponsored by Titleist. Nice thing was that he spent as much time as I needed with me before settling on what was best for me at the time. The other thing I like is that as time goes on and my swing starts improving he is able to make minor adjustments for example to the way my club head lie.
  20. Look up the top 100 club fitters online. More than likely there will be one close to you. Don't settle for anything less than the best fitting or else you're just throwing money away.
