As i'm waiting for the snow to melt here in New England, i figured i tune up the one golf tool I made on my own. And FYI, I was proud of myself since i'm not very handy, just ask my wife..

Anyways a few years ago i started taking lessons with a fantastic instructor. Definitely learned a lot from him and one of the things he noticed is that I was going over the top on most of my swings.. The tool below (see pic) is what he set up to help me with that. This also change my swing path, inside - out (Take the club back to 7 a.m. and out to 1 p.m) and this also allows me to draw the ball a little. Never in my life have i ever been to do it until i started doing this.. Once it's starts warming up, i'll set up my mat and net along with this tool and start warming up in my garage.. I'm still a work in progress but IMO, this tool has really helped my game.

I'm curious about you guys, any homemade golf tool(s) that has helped your game? Love to hear.

    Cheers, Speedy

pretty inventive and creative idea. There would be no way I would ever be able to come up with something so creative.

Good luck with your Baby Draw this season

When I'm practicing on the range I do a similar drill if I'm on a mat I'll use an empty ball basket upside down with an alignment stick through it or if on the grass put the alignment stick right into the ground.

This is a problem I suffer with also. Take it back too much on the inside and have a flat swing. There is a tool called the swing perfector I think here in the UK which I have used and is great but I wanted a cheap alternative.
I can't believe I never thought of the stick in a basket option - Mike you are a genius.

I congratulate on a great tool. It looks familiar to a training aid I have seen. But I think you have good insight! I like it.
  7. It certainly looks good. It could be fun to see some more pictures with you practising with it, so even the slow ones like me fully understand it :-)

Good luck with the new developed swing and have a great season.

Nice. But I think your wife isn't going to buy into that "I'm not very handy" bit
anymore. She's probably making out a list now.
