ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! Needs to be implemented across the entire tour IMO

Not a fan of the books, green reading is definitely part of the game. That being said, some players who rely heavily on the books, might even take longer to figure out the putts.

I'd like to see them ride in carts to speed things up. Just sayin.

Should be banned once the Tournament starts. Just like having a textbook on your desk taking the SATs

Totally agree. Let them use them in the practice rounds in all tournaments, and not in actual rounds. This should be the rule for all tournaments.

I don't like the books either, as it adds too much to slow play. "Read War and Peace"! Ha! Absolutely! Dechambeau with a greens book makes for really bad TV viewing. Reading greens is an art and should be part of what makes a champion. Ditch the books!

Definitely more interesting without the green books!

You, at that level should be able to read greens. After all they can come in prior to the tournament and play the course. Some have played this course enough to know the right sports and to know how it will break. Additionally, they can use the very experienced caddies that are employed by ANGC that know that course like the back of their hand. I believe at one time they were allowed to use only ANGC caddies for the Masters. With respect.

As a new golfer trying to figure out how to read greens I agree 100% part of this amazing game is figuring things out pushing your brain I looked at a green book and got more confused lol

No books, I learned in high school how to read a green by looking at it while walking up to it, then walking to the hole from your ball to check changes & slopes. I assume to be at the Pro level you know how to do all that better than most of us so I don't think a book is needed or should be used.

Green book are beneficial in both practice and tourney rounds. I believe they actually speed up play but when misused a crutch it can be annoying (looking at you BAD)...

Books or no books you still 'gotta pull back the putter and make the stroke. But yeah, it gets annoying watching some pros stand and look at a greens book from several angles ... especially when you know they've had practice rounds and probably played there before. Hit the ball already we 'aint got all day!

Dump the green books. Also get rid of the yardage books and let them use a Bushnell rangefinder. It's legal everywhere else and will help to speed up play. Just shoot the flag and let's go. They already have the pin placement sheet for the day. How much more info. do you need?

Really. After spending more time reading the greens book than reading the green, when it misses, when they stop, point at the ball to their caddie and have that look of how did that happen - how much more time is wasted? The LPGA is getting better about using a shoulder shrug of "well, next time".

I like not allowing greens books. Put some of the skill is being able to look at a green and figure out what is there and how it will effect the putt back in the game.
