I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to test the 348 and 388 Proto at the TTI. I normally play the ProV1 and I found the 388 Proto to have the same playability and feel as my current gamer. The biggest difference I've seen is more distance with the 388 Proto. Great job to the ball R and D crew for putting together another great product.

I have played both the 348 and 388 protos. The 348 flies higher with more spin. It goes a couple of yards longer
than the current ProV1x. Around the green, it seems to be softer and reacts better than the current ProV1x. It is
stable in the wind and comes off the putter very well. Also, I noticed when hitting wedges the ball will not shear.
The 388 flies lower for me and really bores thru the wind. I can flight it down a little easier than 348. It feels a
hair firmer than 348, but it does stop with wedges and still feels good off the putter. I did try the 2 balls on a
very windy day (30 mph and higher) and both balls were great in the wind. If you hit them solid the ball went the
way you intended in the wind. They also went fairly well in the cold temps. They are very durable. Titleist has
hit another home run with the 2023 ProV1 balls. I am waiting for my TSr 2 driver to come in and really hit some bombs. Keep up the great research and development. You are way ahead of your competitors. Thx for giving me a chance to try
    these balls out.

I have played the Prov1 for many years and the new 388 Proto pops off all the clubs more than the old ball. Like the spin and how it holds the green. I also received a dozen of each at the TTI this year and tested both balls and found both balls to be very well performing balls but the 388 outperformed the 348 in every category. The 388 also does not scuff as badly as the 348. Actually believe it is longer than my Prov1x left dash that I have in my inventory. Agree with my right honorable friend from North California regarding kudos to R&D, awesome job. Hope we have the loyalty program in the spring, will stock up with the new Prov1s at that time. Thank you Titleist.

  5. U gotta luv this time of the year when the white boxes show up and luckily the weather in New York has been great still so I was lucky enough to try them out and as expected they performed great even one of the days was windy and the balls performed fantastic and as always stopped on a dime, and the feel off the face of the driver was amazing. As expected titleist products never disappoint.

Played my second round with the new Pro v1 it performed even better than the first round. Great consistency off the tee great launch height and distance. Shots into the green held nicely and the ball is solid off the putter. Shot a -2 under round for the first time in many years. Being 65 and playing a ball that gave me a little more distance and scoring capabilities is awesome.

  8. Thankful to Team Titleist for selecting me to test the 2023 ProV1 and ProV1x golf balls. Played five rounds with both golf balls. I noticed increased distance off the tee immediately. Both balls seemed to have a better more pure feel when hitting my irons. I was able to spin and stop my approach shots with my wedges. I had never done that prior. My putts rolled pure on the greens. Both balls performed excellent. I preferred the 388 protype just a little bit more.
  9. Hey Titleist are you ever going to divulge which prototype is the ProV1 and which is the ProV1x?

It was easy to figure out this year. The number color was one way. The red number proto was ProV1x, black was ProV1. The other way to know was the dimple count was in the name. 388 for ProV1 and 348 for ProV1x.

Prov1 has 388 dimples and Prov1x has 348 dimples. I am sure in all our discussion it has been discussed since October by members on this community, 388 Proto is Prov1 and 348 Proto is Prov1x. Sorry you missed it. Hope this helps. =)
