I read and hear about brand loyalty quite a bit and it made me think about why I chose Titleist over any other brand and why I am so obsessive about it. The only other clubs I've ever used at all were a set of swoosh VR Pro Combo irons that were given to me. Before that, I owned a set of Cleveland TA5s that I did try in a shop, but my options were very limited, and I was tired of playing a brand of knock-off "pro" clubs the very first time I ever played. Prior to owning Titleist clubs, I never held one in my hands. I just wanted them. I didn't wonder if they were right or wrong for me or bother to test them against another premium brand. I was going to get Titleist and nothing else. I don't even care to compare them. Something about Titleist was enough . . . It's Titleist or die.
Admittedly, my reason is shallow, simple, and not scientifically tested for performance: I liked the logo and it's still my favorite attribute of my 620mbs. Of course they feel like butter and perform superiorly, but it's that "Titleist" script on the back of my irons and on the toe side of my driver that gets me excited the most.
