Hey Team Titleist!
The world's best have converged on California's Monterey Peninsula for the 78th playing of the U.S. Women's Open, all with the hopes of joining the rich history of champions crowned on Pebble Beach's iconic 18th.
With a major championship comes major preparation, and we were able to join Team Titleist inside the ropes this week for a first-hand look at how they are getting ready for a week at Pebble.
Fresh off a win at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan, we caught up with Pro V1 player
Leona Maguire to see how she'll play the 8th hole.
It was just Leona's first time around Pebble Beach, and we're a little jealous of how easy she made one if its toughest holes look.
We also joined the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur champion Anna Davis (along with No Laying Up's Big Randy and Cody McBride) during her Tuesday practice round. They dove into how she'll approach the 6th and 7th holes, bucket hats, what she's learned in the year after her win at Augusta National, and more.
At just 17 years old, she'll be makng her 2nd U.S. Women's Open appearance this week at Pebble after claiming medalist honors at the Valencia Country Club qualifier.
A three-time major champion and Pro V1 player, Anna Nordqvist gave us a glimpse into her mindset when coming down the stretch at a major.
"Those are the moments I live for, those are the moments I practice for," said Nordqvist. "I've been fortunate to be in some pressure situations and pulling it off for three majors. I really don't know if there's a secret but it's about embracing the moment."
Her last such moment? The 2021 AIG Women's Open at Carnoustie Golf Links, where rounds of 65 and 69 on the weekend propelled her to a one-shot victory.
