  1. Good Evening folks.

I have just finished my 3rd competitive season of golf and managed to get the handicap down from 16 to 9 with a lot of help from my coach.

I have been playing miz MP57's for 2 years and I think its about time I had a change in the iron department.

I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice as I've never been custom fit before.

How do I go about booking it without going to my local PGA Pro as he's never about the course in the winter?

And what should I expect when I turn up to get fit?

I live close to Kings Acre in Scotland so that would be where I would go.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Yours in sport,

    Andrew Smillie.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your post. There are several ways to go about getting a fit. If your home club pro doesn't carry out fittings, then he can book an appointment for you at the Titleist National Fitting Centre at Kings Acre.

If you are not a member of a club, then you can find your nearest Titleist SureFit fitter at the following url: http://www.fittingworks.com/FindaFitter.aspx?Selected_country=UK&tab=5&submit.x=31&submit.y=10

Alternatively, you should be able to make an appointment for a fitting at Kings Acre with any authorised Titleist stockist.

In terms of what to expect, you will arrive in plenty of time to hit shots to warm up. You will then have a conversation with the Titleist fitting technician, who will ask about your game and what you are looking to achieve. They will watch you hit some shots and also ask you to hit shots monitored by a Trackman Pro launch monitor.

The Fitting technician will then go through the available head and shaft options, looking at the results of each change to get you into the optimum fit for your game.

    Hope that this helps!

    Neil

  3. Hi Neil,

    Great feedback - thanks!

Is it possible to get fit and order the clubs at a later date?

Whats the process after the fitting is complete?

    Thanks again,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

It all depends on where you are fit. If it is your home club pro, he will simply place the order with us once you have given him the go-ahead.

If you go to the National Fitting Centre at Kings Acre, the specs from your fitting are sent back to your pro or the account that made the appointment for you and you have to give them the go-ahead to order from us.

    Best regards

    Neil

  5. Hi Neil,

Going to phone Kings Acre tomorrow and book my fitting session.

Will I have to take my clubs along with me to the fitting session or is that not necessary?

    Thanks again,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Hope that this catches you in time! Yes, you should take your clubs with you - firstly to warm up before you hit balls as part of the fitting and also so that the fitter can make a comparison between existing and new clubs.

Have fun! Let us know how you got on.

  7. Hi Neil.

You must have some job replying to all these posts haha!

I phoned Kings Acre and they told me to get my club pro to email Titleist HQ and deal with it that way so I'll have to wait until March/April if this is the case.

Is there any other way I can do it without going to my Pro?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

All part of the service! :o)

Sorry I had misunderstood and thought you were all booked. Is there no way anyone at your home club can contact Titleist to make the booking for you?

Any authorised Titleist stockist can make a booking on your behalf, so the link in the previous post should help identify someone nearby.

    Best regards

  9. Hi Neil,

I looked on the Titleist website for my nearest Titleist stockist and the Professional at a local golf club is on the list. Could I get in contact with him and get the clubs through him?

Only problem is I've never met him before. Or I could go to the local American Golf store which is also on the list and get them to book the fitting?

    Cheers for the quick response,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

If there is no way to make the appointment through your home club pro and you cannot wait until March / April, you may wish to make contact with one of the options that you outlined and explain the situation.

    Best regards
