Hi have just tried the new Velocity balls you kindly sent me.I found they had a good flight and added a few yards to my driving,the had a nice feel around the greens as well.I also tried the DT SoLo balls as well, i normally play with these or NXT's and found that they had a good flight and were very good around the greens.

All in all nice balls and will keep on using Titleist probably using the Velocity more .

Firstly, thanks for choosing me to test the NXT Tour and Tour S.

I took the NXT Tour out with me on Thursday and loved it.  To give it a comparison, I also took some Srixon AD333's.  The NXT definitely went a little further, considerably more so with the driver.  It also seemed to penetrate the wind impressively (and there was some serious wind!).  The feel was probably the biggest difference.  The difference between the mid range Srixon and the high end Titleist was obvious with every shot.  Looks like it will be my ball of choice from now on, until I try the Tour S next weekend.

One major design fault I did find was that the balls didn't float.  One for the design team next time round.

T'you for the golf balls to try. I have now tried both the velocity and DT solo balls. I liked the feel and performance of the velocity ball but really liked the DT solo especially shots into the green from 130 mtrs. and less. also chipping had a nice feel. Had  good rounds with both balls but was happier with the DT solo.

Thank you Titleist for the Velocity & DT Solo sample balls. I have now played 2 rounds with the velocity ball which gives me an extra 10 yards off the tee even in winter conditions and is very straight. The one draw back I found was that it was much livelier off the face off the putter but gradually I became accustomed to this and despite some mistakes of my own I still managed to finish 1 & 2 shots under my handicap for the two rounds. I found the DT Solo ball a much better ball on the greens but not as long off the tee but still managed to beat my handicap by 3 with the Solo. Hope this works just as well on my next round with the DT Solo.

Both balls played well but as a 16 handicap golfer who is relatively short off the tee I look forward to achieving greater distance off the tee with the Velocity ball when released.

I shot my tied lowest score, 75 with the NXT Tour today. It seemed to go higher then i usually hit it, which is good as i normally have a lowish ball flight. I will try out the NXT Tour S tomorrow.

Used the NXT Tour S sample today and was very pleased with the way they played particularly the soft feel and distance seemed better than the old NXT's - look forward to playing them going forwards !

I recieved samples of the NXT Tour and Tour S, thank you very much, and have used both in the last week. The NXT Tour ball was I think slightly longer than last year's model and I found I didn't have as many bad shots that went as far of a straight line. On the putting green it came off the putter face really well. The Tour S again went straight. On the putting green it felt more like a Pro V1 than last year's NXT a really soft feel giving more confidence to hit a bit harder on the bumpy greens we are experiencing at the moment. Both balls were able to 'bite' on the soft greens, however both scuffed up when played from the bunkers. Overall bothe were an improvement on last year's NXT Tour which was my ball of choice last year (except when I could get Pro V1s on special offer). This year I will be buying the NXT Tour S simply because I like the way it felt on and around the greens.

Hi Neil. Thanks for the 2 DT Solo and Velocity golf balls. Played in the usual Sunday 4 ball today and played the Velocity on the front 9 and the DT Solo on the back 9. Course a links. First impression the Velocity seemed a bit harder than the ball I have been using, but after a few holes it seemed as if it was my normal ball of choice.

The ball certainly flew off the driver,with a great trajectory,and seemed to fly straighter and it had a good feel on the approach shots and putts. Birdie on the first hole. Coincidence?

Played the DT Solo on the back nine, and this felt softer off the driver and irons and as the greens were drying out there seemed to be more stop.The ball had good feel on the greens, and did not scuff from bunkers. A different feel but the same playability.

Thank you Titleist for the balls you sent me to try.

I played with the 'Tour' ball last Sunday 19th Feb. although conditions were not ideal the ball felt very good off the club face with both woods and irons. distance was very good although not much run on the soft ground. Putting also straight and true - managed to win the day.

Today I payed with the 'Tour S', very nice off the club face it was quieter and felt softer off the club face than the Tour giving a lot of confidence. Although I didn't play at my best today  the performance of the ball was excellent with amazing stopping power on the greens and good feel off the putter face.

Thank you for the opportunity to try these balls - will I be using them - most certainly.

Played today - had a more solid round than usual . Ball went much further than normal .Seemed to be better for putting . I certainly will be buying these balls very soon.

I have just tried the new DT SoLo and Velocity balls that you kindly sent me,I was impressed by the low flight of the Velocity when hitting tee shots with wood or even long irons.

I must admit that I was not a fan of the SoLo balls in years gone by as to me they felt too hard a surface when hit, but I must congratulate you as the DT SoLo has a soft feel when hit and although it was shorter off the tee than the Velocity it offers great control from 100 yards in.

Thanks Titleist for the free samples,sorry to be late in submitting my experiences with the new balls,I was away on holiday. I used the new balls today,first impressions on opening the boxes was how the balls felt silky smooth,you felt you were going to play well,

During play I used both balls ,on driving I didn't notice any difference in the length of the drives ,but the big diffence was on my iron shots,they were straight as a die,and shots to the green 1 bounce and stop. Putting well that was its usual self ,always room for improvement.after the game both balls were checked with no noticeable marks on the balls,

My score today was 91 my handicap is 17 par for the course is 70 my age is 71 .My thoughts today I played really well ,and the balls played a major part today,

looking forward to the new season and know the balls I will be using, Velocity or DT SoLo.

Thanks for sending me golf balls for 'trial', namely: Velocity & DT Solo.

The Velocity I found to be a good all round ball not as long as the normal ball I use, but easy to get up & down around the greens, and fairly stable when putting.

Specifically on putting, if there was a slight fault, it is probably the ball is a little lightweight, and therefore doesn't 'hold the line' as much as it might do.

Good all round ball, but I guess the price will have some bearing on its popularity.

The DT Solo as would expect was a good long and true ball, (I drove the green on our 243 yard par four).

In terms of chipping onto the green it is possible to make a good shot, (say 50 yards), and get it to stay there, but the ball is a bit 'solid'. This solid/fairly hard feedback is also evident when putting, meaning perhaps you don't get the right amount of 'feel' that you would want.

If you want distance at a little expense of feel then this is a ball you would consider.

Hi, I received the NXT TOUR and NXT TOUR S balls a few days ago. I played the front 9 with the Tour S and really liked them, they are definitely softer than the new Tour ball. They feel really good off the face of my irons and really stop well on the greens. They are a lot softer than I am used to with the driver but they still flew a long way. As for the Tour ball this had the same solid feel I am used to with the last Tour ball, but I found that the new ball stopped better. This is going to be a hard choice as to which balls to buy this year, they are both really good and I might have to play both for awhile to choose. I think the NXT TOUR S may be the best one in the summer when the greens are firm and the NXT TOUR for the winter months, but both are excellent. Thanks for sending these for me to try.

I received two NXT tour balls and two Velocity balls, thank you.

I played my course over two separate weeks in pretty much the same conditions, windy and slightly wet. On the first week I played with the NXT Tour and the following week with the Velocity. The Velocity balls are probably 10-15 yards longer off the tee with my driver and they have a more penetrating flight path than the NXT Tour. The new NXT tour are an improvement and provide great feel on and around the greens, they are a better ball than the Velocity in this department and I would recommend the NXT tour for any mid-handicap player. Both balls are very durable with little or no marks on them after a full round of golf. I would consider using the NXT Tour as my preferred golf ball from now on.

Thanks very much Titleist you've done it again. I recieved the NXT Tour and the NXT Tour S balls. The NXT Tour S balls are softer than i would normally have chosen but still a great ball flight and have great control around the greens. I prefer a more solid feel when playing and the new NXT Tour balls are just that. Still a great all round ball.  Thanks Kevin

Hi Neil, thanks so much for the samples, a lovely surprise. I've not used the NXT Tour for a couple of years as I found them to be quite hard, but the new balls are a massive improvement, with lovely feel of the clubface and putter. The NXT Tour S is noticeably softer and unfortunately I managed to cut one with my second shot, a pitching wedge from the middle of the fairway. I've been playing AD333's of late but the NXT Tour is going into my bag from now on, lovely feel, great bite around the greens and you get some great feedback with short game shots and putting. A real eye opener, thanks so much.

Hi Neil tried the NXT Tour S last weekend, what a great ball, nice solid feel off the driver good distance and very little side spin. But the biggest attribute for me was the distance control. I gained a little more back spin on approach shots, and i had my best day on the par threes in a long while. Knowing the ball will stop gave me confidence to go at pins -2 on the par threes and more improvement expected, this is the ball for me from now on. Thank You Titleist
