910 Driver - Alternate Shaft Suggestions

    Hi there,

    I have a 90mph Swing Speed / 130mph Ball Speed and was recently fitted at a shaft specialist.  I am currently gaming a Launcher 09 in 10.5* Regular.

    Apparently with Driver I deliver the clubhead from the inside and on the up and generate a lot of the launch myself.  I was fit for a 910 D2 8.5* Head with a R-Flex Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara G-Series 53 Shaft (54gram / 4.5* Torque) in 44.5" - though i may take it down to 44".  I really liked the results...but didnt like the design of the shaft (the yellow/grey colours).

    Can you recommend any other shaft that would feel/play the same as this shaft?  For example would the 'Made For' Bassara W55 in R Flex (54gram/ 4.7* Torque) be similar?  Is this shaft all red in design (i hate that grey/silver fade on the 'griffin shaft)?  Are there any other with similar characteristics worth me trying (upcharge not an issue)?

    Hi Tom,

    Always difficult to make an alternative recommendation if the Bassara shaft was delivering the best results!

    And it's almost impossible for us to suggest a shaft based on comparisons to other shafts - your swing (angle of attack, swing plane, etc) will affect how each shaft performs and without seeing you swing we can't really recommend.

    I would encourage you to return to your fitter or book an appointment at one of our National Fitting Centres.
