About 7 month ago i found myself in the market for a new driver id been playing an old 907D2 8.5 with a UST proforce 70 stiff in it and was struggling with a pull my driving was moderate to say the least at the best of times anyway so i went to a stockist with a launch monitor and the pro ordered me a 910D3 9.5 with an aldila RIP s flex my clubhead speed was something like 100-105 so it should of been about right,........However a few weeks later i went to get my club from the stockists and silly old me forgot to check that everything was right i got it home and put it in the bag a day or so later me and a few mates went out for a game,.....surely enough when we got the gear out of the car the driver was pulled out by the lads and the head cover came off and the explanation of the wrench and the hosel proceeded as i expected but after id tightened everything up and made sure it was in the correct position i noticed the torque of the shaft was different to the one id ordered and quickly found out that i had an X-flex 2.4 torque shaft in my club i started to get a little annoyed but it didnt take the lads long to push me into just using it for the round so i teed it up and put my normal swing on it surely enough that sweet sound when you hit one good their was no pull just a tiny little draw about 280 down the right center this happend frequently though out the round ,........by rights i should of struggled with that shaft in it im only 10 stone and 5'10"........im wondering can fitters actually get it wrong sometimes? was this actually the right shaft model for me or was it the technology that gave me the confidence and inspired me to be able to use this club?,im thinking the latter but who knows " i got lucky",..........so if anyone does know or they have a similar story let me know on a later note does anyone know if the 913 series will have the same hosel fitting system as id love to be able to put my old RIP into it because as we all know the shafts are not cheap.
Thank you =)
