Shaft selection on fairway woods vs. driver

    Dear Titleist,

    I was fitted for a D2 driver last year (Project X 6.0) and am very happy with the selection. I am now finally going to take the plunge with a 3W largely for fairway play. Would you recommend that I get refitted for the 3W or are the parameters taken on the driver interchangeable?

    Hi Chris,

    There is often a correlation between driver and fairway / hybrid shafts, but there is as often no correlation (in terms of shaft manufacturer).

    We would always recommend a fitting (even if it does come out the same fairway equivalent shaft as is in your driver. Launch conditions for fairways and hybrids are very different to drivers and the peace of mind that comes from custom fitting is well worth the investment of your time.
