I was happy to receive the test balls and have tested them against the pro v1 & pro v1x  and my findings were this:

Driver distance:no significant difference in length or spin

3 Wood & Hybrid:no significant difference in length or spin

Irons 4-pw:no noticeable difference in length, spin,or feel

wedges 54,60:performed just as good with good feel & spin

I have also played this ball in a round of golf and found it to perform as good as the pro v1 and pro v1x and would have no problem using it regularly,it would have been interesting to see if there was a difference on a launch monitor but that kind of defeats the object of putting it into play.

I found they didn't go quite as far off the tee, but around the greens gave just as much spin and feel than the old balls. In this department they were unmatched and I found chipping with high lofts gave more spin compared to the older balls

I tried the test balls this weekend, when i actually played ok and found the following: -

    I normally use the ProV1x

The test ball seemed a lot softer.

    The flight was great

Unless you hit the ball great, it didn't seem to go normal distances on slight mishits, having a weak flight and loss of distance.

Shots into the green especially with short irons were astonishing, the control you could achieve was better than anything else i have used.

Putting they seemed overly soft and needed quite a whack to get the ball to the hole.

I wouldn't change from my Prov1X's for these.

  4. Hi,

Thank you for sending me some test balls. Here are my findings.

I play off 14. I found the ball slightly hard off the club face of woods but the ball seemed to fly reasonably straight but also lower. I usually use a NXT tour and the test ball was better in terms of straightness and slightly longer although difficult to gauge accurately because of the course being quite wet at the moment.

Again, I found it slightly hard off the face of the mid/short irons but the ball generated quite a lot of spin and stopped quite quickly - certainly a shorter stopping distance than the NXT tour.

I found the biggest difference was around the green and putting. Strangely, it felt much softer when chipping and felt really good off the putter head.

I also think it was quite a bit more durable than the NXT Tour and hardly looked as thought it had been used when I completed the 18 holes.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey,

Tested balls today compared to Zstar balls and I play off 9.8

Distance- I found no significant difference if anything a little less compared to Zstar

Spin- for chip shots found they were pretty similar to the Zstar

Putting- I really enjoyed the feel on putts with these balls, thought they had a nice soft feel put still would go correct distance

Durability- didnt find them quite as durable compared to Zstar ball but was quite good

One complaint I was told to give was that they don't float!!! ha

Overall a good ball but would find it hard to change from the z-star

Hope this was some help and thanks for the balls
