    Hi Neil,

hope you can help with this query, i currently use the new 913 d2 with an x flex fubuki tour shaft. This shaft is just a tad stiff for me, stiff is way too soft. I read on here recently that titleist tip all their exotic shafts between 0.5 and 1". Would it be better to order a shaft from my pro, through titleist for the same 63g x flex but untipped? How much do you tip the fubuki as standard in your driver and fairways. Going to order the matching fairway with the 73 x flex fubuki tour as wel and was wondering if better for me to order them with untippied or only tipped half as much as standard, swing speed is 114mph. Love these shafts and would really want these in the clubs. Thanks, Brett

    Hi Brett,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I needed to talk to one of our fitters about your options.

The feedback is that, depending on your ball flight / bad shot, leaving the X-flex untipped could result in your bad shot going even further left.

An alternative consideration might be to go for the S-flex, but request an additional 0.5" of tipping - which would result in the tip being a little firmer.

As always, the best thing to do is to talk to your PGA pro or Titleist SureFit fitter about options.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks very much Neil. Greatly appreciate that advice. My pro seems to think to stick to the x flex because of the swing speed and way i load the shaft. Have only recently made the change to x in the driver and woods and he thinks i just need a longer period to get used to them. Have already got the new 913 d2 with the x so am going to take his advice and just practice more. New 913 f with the same shaft on its way too. Great new driver by the way. Much more forgiving than my 910 d3. Thanks again for the advice though, something to def keep in mind. Kind regards, Brett
