    Hi all

i was fitted for my 913 D2 at St Ives back in the summer - great club, love everything about it.  I play at a few courses and one in particular is very tight but still requires driver on a few holes.

I decided to try playing my driver 1 inch shorter so bought a new shaft from Snainton Golf, exactly the same as the one I was fitted for but 1inch shorter...

my question is how does this effect the swing weight?  I don't know what swing weight my driver currently is as this wasn't mentioned at the fitting.  I assume D2 as everything is standard and it has the red weight in.  Do I need to swap this weight for another now I've got a shorter shaft??

    thanks

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for the question.  By taking off some length in the end of the shaft, it will make the swing weight lighter, so you would need to place a heavier weight in the head to offset this.  I would strongly recommend going to an authorised Titleist Fitting account to get this looked at to make sure you are getting it sorted correctly.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  3. Hi Chris,

Query on this from a new member, how much in terms of overall swing-weight would the loss of 1" make on say a 46 to 45 inch shaft? Understand totally your sound advice about seeing Titleist Truefit guy. Titleist used to sell a 'weights kit' in a metal box, you still see places advertising this by that I mean a bona-fide Titleist pro, yet there don't appear to be any of these for sale, have Titleist stopped selling the weights kit?

    Cheers Mr B.

    Hello,

You lose approximately 3 swing weights for every 1/2inch taken off, so 1" would result in a loss of 6 swing weights.

We still do make available the weight pack, it is just not something that too many accounts will hold in stock.  Any authorised

Titleist account will be able to get one for you though.

    Regards,

    Chris

  5. Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply, the swing weight loss (3) for 1/2 inch is a little more than I thought.

I did phone a Titleist account pro near me a while back, but he was a bit hazy on whether the kits were still available and said he couldn't see them on his computer? so he thought they weren't. But I will get back to him & place an order, so I can experiment a little! :) Or can they be ordered straight from St Ives?

    Thanks. Mr. B

As we do not have too many people order these, I can understand why the account may think this, but I assure you they will be available if he orders one.  It would need to be ordered through the account.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  7. Thanks Chris,

    Will give him another call.

    Cheers.
