  1. I have received the itinerary from Hannah this morning after being lucky enough to be chosen to represent Team Titleist in the event on the 9th of August.

I walked around the course during The Open to be able to play there is a dream come true!

I will provided an update with photographs on my return.

    Thanks again

  2. You'll have a great time Chris. I played in it last year and the course is incredible, right up there with Turnberry in my opinion.
Fingers crossed the rough will still be trampled down, if not make sure you take plenty of Pro V's :-)
Looking forward to hearing how you got on.
  3. Thanks Simon, im taking a box with me which is worrying for a single figure golfer ha ha!

I was lucky enough to play with Chris M at Birkdale and I must say the event and course were fantastic and talk about being nervous on the my first tee shot is understatement. I must say I was lucky enough to win the longest drive on the 17th hole with 300yd drive straight down the middle. One more thing is to give a big thank you to Chris M for invite and it was really appreciated.
    Thanks

  10. The weather was amazing the course was beyond words I honestly can not do it justice with words.

I have literally just walked through the door I will do a writeup and upload some photos tomorrow.

Thank you for the best experience of my golfing life.
  11. Such an amazing experience

We turned up 30 mins early at 9am for our 12:44 tee time and were welcomed by the staff running the event and were presented with a small goodie bag and our cards for the day.

A light breakfast was served which included the greatest bacon roll I have ever had, and an insightful discussion around the 2017 Prov1 and Prov1x development from a Titleist rep which included a free sleeve of balls.

The event was first class from the start and as you can see from the pictures below Royal Birkdale is truly a place steeped in a rich history and I wont lie part of me felt a little out of place walking in the footsteps of golfing greatness.

The practice area was better quality than my own golf clubs fairways, and the sound of the clubs tearing through the turf is something totally indescribable. We spent a good hour hitting balls then another hour pitching and chipping, it was a paradise for practice.

After putting for an hour we started on the tenth and I have never felt so nervous in my life. The first few holes had a very slight breeze which allowed for very good scoring we managed 40 as a team and were ruing quite a few lip outs.

Our own fellow TT member Scott B took the longest drive with a wonderful effort that went around 300 yards, rumour is he was the only player to hit the fairway but thats another story.

As a team we scored a respectful 73 the front 9 mostly played into a strong wind which killed all momentum we had. A poor last three holes saw me lose 3 balls and score one point leaving me on 32 for the day.

The meal was out of this world, not your usual ham egg and chips after a round and was fantastic.

I can not thank Titleist enough for the opportunity to play at a Bucket list course for free in such a professionally run event. It was by far the best day of my golfing life.

    Thanks again

    Chris

    Looks like a great day.!
  14. What a great story Chris. You certainly made full use of those practice facilities; I'd have been too exhausted to play after 3 hours!
Having played for TT in the same event last year I knew you'd fall in love with Royal Birkdale. The only problem with it is that you want to go back and play it every day!
  15. Very true Simon, Scott and I are currently planning a trip for next year and Birkdale is quite high on the list.

Nefyn and Royal St Davids may come out on top though
