When I was fitted by Bob, Will and the guys at Woburn last year Bob got me hitting a 46 SM7. I've never liked the idea of a non set PW but I hit that one very well on the range and it felt amazing so I ordered one (along with the other 3 wedges I was fitted for!). Ive always felt that a Vokey PW would be for the better more consistent ball strikers, I play off 7 but like anyone my ball striking can be hot or very cold so I always liked all the help I could get!

My set up at the moment is 3-9 718 TMB's then 4 raw SM7's. I do feel like I don't get as much out of the SM7 PW as I would with the set PW, as in a bad strike with the set PW will go further than if I don't quite strike the SM7 as its obviously more forgiving, but I can play a wider range of different shots with the SM7 than I can with the 718TMB PW. And as mentioned above, the SM7 feels like butter and I get some great control with it.

Going into the season I will be keeping the SM7 PW in the bag!

I have 3 Vokeys but my favourite club in the bag is the AP2 PW
It is so versatile and when I carry I leave 2 of the vokeys at home so that I can carry 10 clubs just using the PW and a 54 Vokey

Just a matter of what gives you confidence I guess

I’m still using the 718 ap2 P wedge, ive got 3 sm7 50,56 and 60 in my bag.
I’ve not felt the need to swap P wedge for another sm7.
Everyone is different though,
what works for me might not work for others.

I actually like the AP2 PW a lot and use it for many and varied pitch & run shots.
(I know purists think you should use a range of irons for pitch & run but, hey, it's nice to be a rebel occasionally...)

Anyway, the stronger loft (than my previous AP2 PW) left a gap that I filled with a SM7 50*.
There is, however, a part of me that wonders if I should have gone to the AP2 Gap Wedge.
So for me, I wouldn't be without the PW.

I have recently purchase a set of AP3 and find the PW to strong, so the gap between my vokey wedges in now to great, so I am going to purchase a 48 deg wedge. But the PW is very versatile and is great to hit knocked down shots in the winter. Think it might be different in the summer though.

When I was fit I was told to go with the ap2 PW and gap wedge as I will be playing mostly full shots and I'll get too much spin with a jokey 50.
Different voke's have different strokes I suppose, see what I done there?

I use the AP1 PW and GW both 1 degree strong and then the SM7's at 52 and 56. I love the feel of the SM7's but think I still need the forgiveness of the AP1's.

It's pretty much personal preference, I play AP3 so my set gap wedge is 48 degrees and it's my favourite club in the bag. I'm not a very good chipper and it gives me a big more confidence.
