Hi I have an issue with a Titleist carry bag I recently bought. And spoke to the retailer I bought it from over the phone as I bought it inline. They have informed me that I need to take it to my local Titleist stockest and they will deal with it. Is this the correct way to get this sorted This doesn’t seem right to me. Surely the responsibility lies with the pro shop I bought it for. Be great for some feedback on this

    Hi John,
    You have several options:
    - First is to visit your local shop where you bought it. As customer you have a 1-2 year warrenty. So they have to follow up.

    - Contact Titleist St. Ives. Combine it with a fitting at the National center. You can drop off the bag then.

-You can ask another pro shop if they could sent it back to Titleist and take care of the bag. In the Netherlands shops do that too and Titleist takes care of that internally with the shops.

But trust me, pick the phone and ask Titleist. They have the best warrenty regulations and customer service is very friendly.

Good luck, and sorry to hear about your bag.

    Happy swings,

    Bart

I would say they are absolutely wrong. Your contract is with them, not anyone else. I suggest you get back to them quoting the sale of goods act and not fit for purpose etc.

Maybe they would but it’s surely got to go back to the retailer you brought it from. Sounds like they don’t want to take responsibility
  5. Hi John, This is standard practice especially if the issue was related to clubs, its all down to identifying if any fakes are being sold, we had this at my club recently with a Scotty Cameron putter, it turned out to be a fake. If bag related, I guess it could be a little reminder to purchase through your club pro! Was the online purchase via a pro shop? If so then I wouldn't expect any issues at all - normally Titleist returns are very good - I had my bag in my profile picture zip break - and they replaced it with a brand new one very quickly
  6. I bet Luke responds tomorrow but as far as I'm aware, the retailer retains responsibility for the product under the Sale of Goods Act. Think your supplier is trying to pass the problem on...

Yes John, it is the responsibility of the seller, sounds like they're just trying to fob you off, I returned a stand bag I had issues with to the online seller The Golf Shop Online and they refunded me the cost of the bag and included and extra £10 towards my return postage. I've had nothing but excellent service form this online seller, I can strongly recommend them.
I suggest you go back to your online seller and tell them its their responsibility, threaten to name and shame them on this forum, that's worked in the past for others.
I've sent a bag back direct to Titleist in the past so that's probably an option, hopefully Luke can confirm if this is possible if you don't get any success with your online seller.

    Good luck

You are correct. Usually you deal with the retailer who sold you the goods for warranty issues and they take it up with the manufacturer.

However if the online retailer is from overseas you might be able to get assistance in the UK. It may also be worth speaking to your local pro shop in case there is anything they can do.

Finally, if you bought with a credit card, I understand they also have an obligation to fix any faults as they are classed as a co-seller.

    Good luck
  9. Hi John, we would always recommend returning the bag through your place of purchase as that is where your receipt will be from and we are then able to credit back the item if it is deemed faulty. If the retailer will not deal with it then you can return via any Titleist retailer but it just makes things take a little longer.

    Kind regards

    Hi Luke
I bought the bag from Seaham Golf Club pro shop,
And they insist I take it back to my local Titleist retailer,
They have sent me the receipt in the for of a jpeg image.
I haven’t had the best of luck with carry bags this year, 1st my strap snapping and now buying a new one and the material is cracking and peeling away.
Had no issue for the last 10 years. But I now feel like I am a pest.
Anyway my local pro shop has kindly offered to send it back and I have given them a copy of the receipt.
I don’t want my money back I just want a replacement bag.
I have attached a picture of the issue
