  1. Hi all,

Just looking for some thoughts on whether anyone has strengthened the lofts on the ap2’s.

Hit one of the lads P790s and they flew, love the feel of the ap2’s though.

    Thanks Ash.

I watched a good video of a comparison of all 5 new T series irons, the guy used a 7 iron from around 172yds and the lofts differed 8* I think from 100 to the 400 yet they all played like a 7 iron........wouldn’t mind a wee swing of the 200’s I currently use ap1 718 which are great and in no rush to change but the next time titleist Thursday is near me I’ll book a sesh.
  3. Where was the video to, as I want new irons and it would help me decide what should I look at?

  5. Ash,
On the previous version of AP2, I felt the longer irons plateau'd a bit and I could pick any long iron and reach roughly the same distance. When I moved up to 718's, after testing on Trackman, I decided to stick with with AP2 (as you say, the feel is super) for PW, 9 & 8 and went to the stronger AP3 for 7, 6 & 5. Additional muscle above that come from a TM-B 4 iron (on Dynamic Gold steel) and a U500 3 iron (Hzrdus Smoke).
At the other end of the scale, I went for a Spin Mill Vokey rather than the AP gap wedge as I could choose the loft rather than have a hard & fast 50*....
The mixture suits my game but, naturally, offends my OCD!!
Call me nervous but I'm a bit wary of bending my bats. If you don't like the outcome, bending back can weaken the club. Let us know what you do...
