  1. Bunkered this morning suggests the 11th May could be the day that golf resumes and we can all get back to playing golf. It could work out ok for me as furloughed until end of June, I’m sure a lot are in the same boat. So let’s hope it’s true and we can enjoy fresh air and good golf. But also spare a thought for people a lot worse of than us and sadly missing members.

  2. Richard,
Seems a bit quick if the UK Gov Review Date is next Thursday but it's feasible given the anticipation in the golfing community... not to mention how desperate the clubs are to get up and running again.
Some of the weird stuff to get used to...
Not raking the bunker... few weeks ago that was the height of bad manners and the sort of etiquette that would have you up before the committee.
The flag conundrum - In or Out? - won't be an issue now - It stays in and don't you dare touch it!
Wear your FJ or Titleist snood/neck warmer like John Strachan (see John's posts) for masking purposes?
    Do you swap cards?
Shake hands? Bump fists? Tap elbows? or just wave and shout "Thanks for the game" across the green?

But you're right, we shouldn't forget that there will be some absent friends.

In Switzerland we will be allowed to play golf again on 11. May!
Big relief to finally start the season after an abrupt end last September with huge back issues!
  5. I think just keep distance and not touch flags and def no shaking hands or pats on the back for hole in 1 haha. Straight to the course, tee off and then go home is good way. Although did just read that in Ireland they are saying there is a 5km rule, which means at first only people living within that radius can play and then in June extend it further.

Part of me wants it back to normal to save my local club for going under and others too. But will it be so busy that tee times will be hard to get if just 2 balls. When it’s all back to normal I think it would be a good idea to have comps but all profits going to the NHS and local care homes to help out for a while at least.

I received an email this morning saying clubs were gearing up for opening from 18th May but until its official I wont be jumping up and down.
  7. I got an E-Mail from the club yesterday to say that while we all await Boris’s TV statement on Sunday 10th May, we in Scotland are bound by any statement that our First Minister.

If it happens to be different here and to our disadvantage that’s just tough...
  8. Same here in Wales, I’ve seen a few news stories saying golf may be open in England after weekend, but let’s see what Boris says and let’s hope Wales and Scotland bow to pressure to re open golf. But doubt Sturgeon will budge on anything.
