What does everybody eat and drink when they play ?

  2. Water is always best no energy drinks or coffee as coffee takes water away and energy drinks make you have a rapid sugar spike which isn’t good. Drink a big glass of water with breakfast, something healthy like eggs or toast with banana. As for food during your round, def no chocolate or sweets or energy bars. Nuts, bananas , protein bars or boiled eggs or chicken always help play better.

Definitely not the best but I have diluted juice and a cpl of snickers always in the bag.
  6. John,
Orange Lucozade & a flapjack with a chocolate top....

In times gone by, I'd take a bag of M&S flapjacks (the ones in brown bags that they bake in the shop) for sharing with the chaps... but always the fizzy Orange Lucozade.

Have to say, I really don't like water.

Water always in my bag, i usually eat before or after I play but if I knew I wouldn't get the chance then flapjack ro something.

Having said that.......if our half way hut is open then it's a Moretti and a sausage roll!

If I’m good and plan, then it’s flapjacks, nuts and plenty of water. If not, I still carry water but it’s probably a Snickers and a sarnie at the halfway hut, with a Diet Coke to go with it.

    Hey!

So plenty of water to keep hydrated. No Fizz no Energy drinks at all.

Food wise I stay away from anything with Sugar. Like a few people have said it will give you a pick me up but your body will just crave more.

So I take mixed nuts and fruit. There are some energy bars you can find at Holland & Barrett with No sugar so worth having a look.

If you are a sky customer there is a fitness and nutritionist programme. You can find it ON DEMAND under the golf section.

It’s a really good watch for 30 mins and your be surprised.
  11. Sports drink and protein bars when playing. Pre-round I'd try to make sure I've had some peanut butter on wholemeal toast.

I carry a Hydroflask with water and a bit of lemon through it. In terms of food I will usually make sure I have bananas or apples or maybe a granola bar. It depends a little on what time of day I am playing. Oftentimes I will play after work and I usually find I don't need too much sustenance if I had eaten a good breakfast and lunch during the day.

I'll have a Zero tablet in water and some extra water before and during round in the hot weather. Always have a coffee before the round (too much is my vice).

Food will be banana and nakd bars. Nuts aren't my favourite especially for playing partners as they end up choking on them while I'm putting...

Key is drink every couple of holes and eat after 5 and 10 holes to keep the energy up...
