  1. Hi.

I was fitted for a set of T200's 5-PW with AMT Black stiff shafts and everything as standard. I've played 3 rounds with them and hit around 200 balls on the range but I am struggling to get any consistency to them. I either hook, slice or push pretty much every iron in the set.

These are the first set of clubs I've owned which I've been fitted for, so I'm wondering if this is normal and I just need time to get used to them or have I had a bad fitting?

    Cheers

I had similar problem a few years ago I got fitted for a set of irons and could do nothing with them and I was not very happy having spent a fair bit on them I was offered a free re fit and I got the same results for the clubs so I stuck with them and after a few more weeks of practice and a few more rounds I started to play well with them so I suggest give them a few more weeks and if still not happy contact Titleist and get a re fit and see if you get the same results I am sure you will be ok with them once you have got used to them
  3. Peter,
    Give yourself time...
Pick your favourite club and have a session just with that and see if it clicks.

I've had my T100S for a couple of weeks. I was spraying them all over the course for the first couple of rounds and couldn't find a consistant shape or trajectory until I did as JT recommended above....took the clubs off the course and went to the range with 9iron and 7iron and hit 100 balls with the 9 then the 7 and started to feel the middle consitantly.

Stay with it and good luck.

Peter, YOU ARE NOT ALONE...I had the same with my first set of fitted clubs. .It's worth talking to your fitter or get a lesson especially if they have a launch monitor. Our swings change and on the fitting day you might not have been swinging your best.

I went back to my fitter and he asked how I felt over the ball, I then hit a few shots and he suggested a change to the lie angle. We did the odd irons to start with to see if it helped. It did a little but it can get into your head and there was no real improvement in the end a got a lesson and that sorted it out.

You'll get lots of advice from mates, like go back to your old irons or Titleist irons are hard to get used to (which was said many times...an old urban myth I believe) but stick with them.

As JT suggests pick a favourite and have a range session with that, hopefully that'll be in the 7 or 8 iron...unfortunately for me it was the gap wedge that I didn't have an issue with.

Let us know how you get on...

    Ant
