  1. Hello TeamTitleist,

Amber here... Yesterday on schedule was my club fitting session at the official Titleist fitting center at The International. My best friend and also TeamTitleist member: BirdieBarty joined me during the session. Over the last couple of weeks I had close contact with the Titleist reps to see when the new heads were in.

I arrived around 07:30 in the morning at The International. Upon arrival I registered myself at the main desk. The fitting bay is located on the west side of the driving range. After a warm-up session I reported myself at the Titleist reps. Titleist Netherlands: Paul Goodfellow & Remko Wijdenes were scheduled to help me out yesterday.

We started with the irons. I had a personal preference to start with the T100. After trying out 3 models: T100, T100S & T200 the T100 was best suited for my gameplay. Perhaps fun to share is that the T100 is a slightly thinner blade and for those who are willing to play a bit more blade type version (Like the previous MB's). The T200 was very forgiven but it had surprisingly "too low" spin and I wasn't hitting the bal further. The T100 suited perfect at my game.

Straight after hitting I felt very comfortable and we went down into shaft selection. I used to play graphite in my current set. When trying out with several shafts ranging up from AMT Tour, KBS, the UST recoil F3 suited the best for me. Which is a very light steel shaft.

After the irons I jumped into the woods. Starting off with hybrids. I tried out the TSi 2 & TSi3. I didn't felt comfortable with the TSi3 as I felt it too heavy and just simply not comfortable to hit. The TSi2 (18 deg) hybrid was very solid and easy to hit. Also very forgiven to hit from several surfaces. The Aldila TSi Ascent 40 (regular) was the right shaft for me. With a carry between 170-175 meters this was the right club as replacement for my long irons. After hybrids we jumped into the metal woods. I'm already having the TSi2 driver in the bag so I was looking now for a club between driver & hybrid. Again the TSi3 fairway woods didn't felt comfortable and the TSi2 was the perfect fit for me. We followed up the same shaft which was the Aldila TSi AScent again. I got a great launch and great carry distance. 185-190 meter for 3-wood.

So all what was left now is wedge play. I tried several grinds in the SM8 series. Bart recommended me couple weeks ago to have a closer look into the D grinds and somewhere in the high bounce section (12-14 deg). I started hitting the S grind wedge and slowly moved up towards the M grind wedge. But I was hitting the ball not comfortable off the turf and not hitting the right spin and contact I was looking after for. Also I had 0 feel with the club. Remko was still 100% confident this was the right wedge and double checked with Paul & Bart. After the catch-up we decided to move into the D grinds. And straight away my contact with the ball was a lot better and the balls came off a lot nicer. Also the spin was there I was looking after for. Remko even came up with the idea to try out the new K-grind wedge. The K-grind is best described as the best bunker wedge. It has a wide sole and high bounce. The recommendation was to use the K-grind wedge as low edge with 14 deg bounce. For the SW Remko recommended the F grind. As this was an all-purpose grind for full wedge shots. However I still am not confident as I might prefer to stay in the D grind as it is so much more forgiven. So that is something to think about for the upcoming days.

I had great fun, and so fun to try out the new material. I can really recommend everyone to do a fitting when buying new clubs.
