Went to the pro am yesterday with my dad and got to walk the 18th with Lee Westwood.

Though is he a staffer for another club company he still plays Titleist Ball and wears Titleist gloves.

Was an absolute gentleman and really made my dads day.

We chatted, we laughed and a couple of us nearly shed a tear or two talking about what dad had been through.

It culminated in Lee inviting dad to putt on the 18th green.

Absolute legend of the game.

Dads been fighting Non Hogkins Mantle Cell Lymphoma for nearly a decade.

He hopefully has come through a highly risky trial after being given 2-3 months to live.

I got him a ticket as we had never been to a golf tournament together and told him I wanted him to use this as the inspiration to get fit.

The rest is now history In the short video BMW Golfsport and The European tour has put together.

My whole family have been totally humbled by what everyone done for us.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the memories they have made for us.

very sympathetic with all your family has gone through - My Father past in September 2019 after battling Mylofibrosis for 8 years - he too was on an amazing Drug trial guided by Guys Hospital London - we were incredibly grateful for all the support we had!

The memories you have made will never be forgotton!

Billy Horschel was sporting a lovely golf bag yesterday

We got to see the tourney here in Canada. Great theatre coming down to the end. Horschel’s bag would look better with a blue Spurs Cockerel on it. It is great to see him support a Premier League team though

I've been through a similar situation with my dad; he's been fighting multiple battles against cancer since 2009.

I hope that you father is well, as i know for some this horrible disease is a roller-coaster for those how have it and the families that love them.

Dad has been a true trooper, but we have also been so so lucky. The Team at Barts have been amazing throughout, and more recent UCHL and MacMillian have been likewise.

The Trial Dad was put on was a CAR-T Cell immunotherapy Transplant. at the time he was being considered anyone over 50 was classed as High Risk, and dad is 77. But he golfed 3 times a week, and generally since initial diagnoses get fit when he was able to.

The trial was not nice, I will not lie. He had to be admitted alone for 7.5 weeks, 6 off which, he was laid up with 1.5l of fluid being drained from his lungs a day. He had the calls saying they were worried about pressure on other vital organs and talks of putting him in ICU on a ventilator. But he turned the corner.

The rest is now history, and documented.

Although since last week we have had a call from BARTS to say that his latest scan shows no sign of Lymphoma anywhere in his body. So lets hope this and the other trials push the roll out of CAR-T to all.

At the end of they day all he wanted was the small hope that going on the trial opens it up to others, fingers crossed it does.
