  1. Looking at pulling the trigger at some new wedges

    I have ap3 which go down to AP3 48

    Looking at 52, 56, 60

But also thinking of just 52, 58

Who finds a 60 useful? I’m not sure I’ve ever thought to myself I need a 60 but 3 wedges seem to be what most carry

For many years i carried just the 2 wedges. 52 & 58 but i found myself in between shots and yardage and wished i had something in the middle.

    So i now play T100 irons and also 50,54 & 58 in SM8 wedges.

I think you need 3 unless you believe you have all the short game covered in them 2 wedges.

Wish you well find your ideal gapping.

    Have a good season.

I use AP3s too but have one degree extra loft on all of them including the 48 deg gap wedge. I was fitted for two SM7s - a 54 deg bent to 55 and a 60 deg.

This works for me as long as I remember not to try to hit the 60 deg flat out. I use it for finesse (ha ha!) shots around the green.

If you go for 3 SM9s, you’ll have 5 wedges although perhaps the PW counts as a 9 iron these days…

    T100s for me.
    PW 44° so SM8 48° 54° & 60°
All different grinds for different conditions.
Easy to grip down or open face for playing shots.
    Sm9s ordered, hopefully March delivery.

Sm8’s 50, 54 that plays 55 and 60 deg wedges are in my bag.
The 60 is mainly for bunker play, it very rarely gets used anywhere else unless I need to really try a mental daft flop shop lol
    Can’t wait for my sm9’s ️‍♂️
  6. Rhys,
    I've recently moved from AP2's to T200's.
My AP2's went down to 46* PW while T200's go down to 43* PW & 48* GW.

Currently, I have Spin Mill 7 wedges at 50*, 56* & 62* but this is obviously a redundant set-up as the gapping is all to pot. Didn't get much use from the 50* - only comfortable on a near-full swing. Love the 56* - can open/close the face and adopt a range of swing lengths with a fair degree of success. Ambivalent on the 62* - great in bunkers but I found it a bit hit & miss on flop shots (probably the Archer not the Arrow!)

I'm looking at new SM9's but I'm struggling to decide on the set-up. Have concluded that I'll have to go for a wedge fitting when ForeGolf get the demo's in.

I currently have a 620 CB PW which is 47*, an SM7 52* and SM8 56* & 60* but I feel I have too much of a gap between PW and 52* (20-25 yards) so I may change set up slightly.

I like the gapping the 56* & 60* so they're safe this year (and both brand new) but I'm thinking either a new 50* or 52* but bent to 51* depending on the gapping when I get fit
