Sounds like a great trip. The one thing to say about UK weather is that it is changeable and even weather apps get it wrong.
London will tend to be early 70s Fahrenheit that time of year but can equally be 60s or 80s. Scotland in general will be a few degrees lower but can equally have very warm days.
I guess the general message is pack everything!!!

Yep Ron, you may get every type of weather on your trip. Carry everything from shorts to some compression tights and rain gear. Hopefully you catch just the good stuff. You can always pick up a logo sweater while you are over there too.

Welcome to the UK TT page.

So you kind of got the idea regarding the English weather.. its sometimes more warmer in the South of the country than it is Up the North of the country.

There are a few useful apps for weather you can use such at the “MET OFFICE APP” or “BBC WEATHER APP” though you could use your own one on your phone to gage what the weather will be like over the time of your trip to the U.K.

If its warm enough in London Polo and shorts will be fine and you may wanna bring a thin mid-layer just incase.

Scotland could be warm but again there is sometimes strong winds and rain but come June/July you maybe ok but you would definitely need to bring some extra layers.

I hope you enjoy the 150th Open at St Andrews, expecting it to big a very very exciting Open this year and on its 150th Anniversary I’m sure the organisers have some special things planned. The only down side will be that the Open Jug will be staying on this side of the pond again!

I hope you have a lovely experience over here and please post photos of the course and the visit to the open as well.

What courses are you playing?

I'm playing Swinley Forest and Walton Heath near London. Then I'm playing Dunbar, Nairn, Gleneagles, and Anstruther. I was going for more historical than popular with Gleneagles being near where we are staying. I literally cannot wait!!!

Hi Ron.

I would say have multiple thin layers ready including something properly waterproof. London is usually a bit warmer but temperatures can be variable even in London in the summer and especially Scotland and you can expect temperatures ranging from 14-30°C depending on your luck. In St Andrews you’ll be by the sea and it’s always been breezy when I’ve been there so prepare for that too.

In terms of actual weather, use www.metoffice.gov.uk/ or www.bbc.co.uk/weather . Weather forecasting is now reasonably reliable here in general terms 3-4 days out and very reliable within 24 hours or so.

Since I stay in Scotland (about 40mins from Gleneagles) I can’t comment about the weather in England apart from the BBC’s weather report in the morning always says it’s going to be another beautiful day and sunny

The weather can change from 1 day to the other. I generally start wearing shorts come the end of April start of May with a polo shirt & a light golf jumper. Come June/July l would maybe pack the jumper in the bag. Since you’re coming from the States I would take waterproofs just incase, but I would only wear my waterproofs if it was going to be heavy rain.
Temperature wise it will be between 15c & 25c
