What's everyone's thoughts on the new GT range. Look really clean to me, typically Titleist and can't wait to see one for real.

  2. It’s hard to see what has changed until they are lined up beside the TSR - as always they look good.

Intrigued to know what the GT stands for ……Grand Tour, Golf Tour, Graded Titanium…..?

Either way, I do hope to upgrade my TS2 this year.

Same. Currently gaming a TS3 and didn’t get much more from TSR so I’m intrigued to see what the new gen brings.
I have to say I am liking the looks.

Apparently it stands for Generational Technology, even though they look similar to TSR (which isnt a bad thing!) im sure there's a noticiable change in performance especially in the GT3 model with the weight track moving to the front of the head similar to the '3' model fairways. I'd guess there's some new material story as well to move weight, maybe carbon or some sort of composite.

Interested to find out either way.

It looks pretty indistinguishable from the previous gen?!?

The GT3 has significantly changed the weighting system from the TSR3. The secondary adjustable weights in the back have now been incorporated within the sole weight.

    Surely that's a good thing isn't it?

From what I've seen, they look great. I've not played a Titleist driver for a while now, mainly becasue I hit my current driver well and haven't been searching for anyhting. If I do look at changing this year then I'll definitely consider the GT, will be interesting to see the shaft lineup too and play about with some different combos.

Chris - are you allowed to say that on here - only saying!!!!!
  10. Hi I used to be a TM stalwart up until 4 yrs ago when they started messing about using carbo face , switched into the tsi got fitted then TSR range no need for fitting as spec unchanged , what Titleist do and it’s proven is suttle improvement rather than every year this comes out its our best yet as too rinse the consumer like cally/TM etc , I use the 620mb irons quality needs no replacing so they still manufacture, I can recommend getting fitted for a Titleist club once you do it will be relevant for years , ps titanium face a joy , and remember Titleist don’t need to pay there tour pros 5 to 10 mill a year there product sells itself

Will definitely give them a try, I don't think there are many bad clubs out there now, so much of it is now down to fine tuning with an informed fitter and personal prefernce. But the GT range definitely has me interested.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the big difference in the GT3 vs TSR3! The weight track system has moved from the rear of head to behind the face (very similar to the TSR3 fairways). Seems to be the biggest visual tech change across the range, will be interesting to see how that changes performance vs the TSR3.

Excited to hear more on these, I think they look fantastic.

I've not tried the last few generations of Titleist drivers and haven't had a driver fitting before so it would be interesting to explore this to see how it compares to my current setup.

Will there be invitations to UK TT members for exclusive fittings? Seems like our US cousins are getting their invites about now.

Dead excited for these, hope TT members get early access like last year
  19. Can’t wait for these to launch. My current woods are no longer suitable for me. Hope Titleist announces a date for pre order fittings soon.
  20. Check your emails guys, fitting invitations have been sent out :)
  21. All signed up to try these at the grove, finally a fitting day that suits my work schedule:)

I've booked in at Woburn, seeing a customer 5 minutes away in the morning :)
  23. I’m signed up for Burhill on 18 July.

Naturally my TS2 was on its best behaviour whilst enjoying a society day at Thornton Park on Friday!
  24. Booked Woburn fitting and cant wait! Am i right in thinking what ever we paid for the fitting is deducted from the cost of the clubs we buy? And where do we have to purchase from?

I'm booked for Woburn too. Interested in the answer to this question plus what's the benefit of Woburn over the other fitting sites as its £175 more expensive? Is it because of the use of real golf balls, wider selection of shafts etc etc? I'd really appreciate it if someone could let me know as that's a lot of money for a 1 hour fitting.

If you intend to buy you won’t moan about what it costs you it’s different from any other fitting available at Titleist the fitting facility is tour level also the fitters you will go away knowing you have the best fitted club to your game.
I was lucky to have a bag fittting there and the attention to detail was worth the £500 from an experience if you have all the latest equipment the question is how much are you looking to improve wether that’s through equipment lessons ability but it’s definitely ticks the equipment box!!

I'm not fussed about the fitting cost as if the GT is better than what I have then I'm sure I'll be buying! Just wanted to know what a fitting at Woburn has in this instance that the regional fits don't? Can anybody from Titleist reply with some info please?
  28. Only got to look at cam young dropping a 59 with them

Cam Young's 59 probably isn't the best endorsement of the GT range, I think he only hit 5 fairways. Having said that, he did lead the field in the 3rd round for strokes gained off the tee, although I suspect that has somehting to do with him hitting one to 5 feet on the par 4 15th with a driving iron!

    datagolf.com/historical-tournament-stats
  30. There were quite a few holes where he only missed the fairway by a yard or two and was in the first cut though. Fairways hit isnt a great stat for determining performance off the tee as you say; strokes gained is better and his strokes gained off the tee was his best since the Masters

Agree with Aaron. Anyone who follows CamY knows his forte has always been his length, not his driving accuracy. If he is getting 5 more yards and a little closer to the edges, he is hitting wedges that allow him to still hold the greens. His putting has always been his weakness and he rolled in a bunch that day. If you want a testament to how good the GT drivers are, look at Cantley. He still plays AP2 irons and is notorious for slow to change anything. He wore DryJoy shoes for 2 years after the Premiere series came out. He put the GT in the bag the first week it was available.

These Cam Young Driver takes have not aged well!

Visually they look great, typically Titleist which is great. I currently play the TSR4 and I am really interested in what benefits I will see in the latest ranges. I have a fitting booked in July and I cannot wait to trial them, fingers crossed I see an improvement.
