  2. My Goals are to play at least 9 (because of the shorter days) each week and practice twice a week.. still on a drive to get to single figures and things are trending the right way!

Nice Will thank you, love a little sweepstake.
This winter, I'm working on swing tempo and speed to help find more fairways. I find that if I hit the fairway I make more pars and a few birdies. All this to help prepare for 2025 and get my handicap back down.

Thanks Will. I got my handocap down from 96 over the summer so I aim to keep it below 8 during the winter months to go again in the Spring and aim for 5 next summer.
  5. Playing less golf and focusing far greater on practise.
Changed putting grip and regripped putter on the weekend followed by several hours of just putting practise.
Really looking to work more on my game and have committed to more focused lessons and practise at home as well as at the course.
Some winter league golf to have some fun and look forward to making more progress in 2025

Winter goals are to play a bit more than I have and to work on my sequencing and rotation. Going to start doing some work on basic flexibility so that I don’t put so much strain on my back as I reverse tilt.

After having a poor season this year due to damaging a couple of ribs, my plan is do more strength work and get to the range more often.

I have noticed after changing clubs to T350 recently, how much distance I have lost, so I am looking to get more speed in my swing.

I have not take the switch to GT's yet as at the recent fitting at St Ives, the few yards difference really did not warrant £500 but I have changed my Hybrid's to TSR's. So I have plenty to work on over the winter with all these new clubs

My aim this winter is to grid on the range, focusing on the basics of alignment, swing plane and also routine.
Putting practice for winter just means hitting putts with my mirror and scotty indoors on my mat.

Hoping to get back down to scratch at the beginning of next year as it was a bit of a slog this year!

Would love some Titleist swag, my goals are to work on 100 yards and in as it needs tidying up. Also I’m thinking of trying the GT 16.5 4 wood as I’m wondering would I be more confident with it than my 15 3 wood. My TSR 3 wood is probably the only club in my bag that when I’m over the shot some doubts creep into my head especially on fairway shots. Opinions on the GT 16.5 are welcome. Thanks.
  11. Declan, I went for the GT2 4-wood when GT was launched and ditched my 3 and 5 woods.
I wasn't using the 3 wood enough to justify carrying it round. The 5 wood was a great club but unfortunately, it went the same distance and very similar trajectory to my 5 hybrid so one of them had to go. 4 wood seemed the practical solution. My fitter agreed, we tested the theory using Trackman and it seemed to fit the gap between driver and hybrid. I was fitted into a Tense Blue stiff and I really love it.
The 4 wood is powerful and is as easy to hit as the 5 wood. The shaft is shorter than the 3 wood but I find it goes (on average) about as far, as the strike is usually better and more consistent. It is a true fairway finder and I've found I've become competent and confident with it very quickly.
I regularly use it off the tee - just drop my ProV1x and hit it off the deck. After all, it was designed to be hit from the fairway.
Used it in Spain in September and it ran well after landing. As a result, I barely used my driver all week. Swept the pot, so it's started to pay for itself already.
I would highly recommend that you get on Trackman with a proper fitted 4 wood and see what you think.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks so much for the info, will definitely be trying this. No fittings currently near me so I think I’ll be going this route when available.

My goals this winter is to try and have 2/3 lessons a month through November December and January , Working just on my long game and irons.

Also will spend a lot of time on my wedge play in and around 100 yards.

  16. Get fitted for GT driver.
Struggled this season, so this winter will be upping practice as well as hopefully upgrading clubs to lower handicap next season
  17. My goal this winter is to use the lessons package I have bought from my pro to help me find some consistency that I am lacking post a knee replacement this year. We are also going to look at my bunker play too.

I'd like to average 1 round per week throughout the winter, it's good jut to get out there in daylight with friends. Assuming I'm able to do that, I'd also really like to improve my iron play and get rid of / reduce my left miss with the irons, I'll likley have a lesson or 2 after Christmas to help!

The main goal is to try and maintain some level of consistent golfing each week alongside work, regardless of how bad the weather is or limited the daylight hours are.

This could be in the form of on course golfing, driving range sessions to continue building my swing, short game and putting practice sessions etc... One session at a time!

Will definitely need to layer up to keep protect myself from the elements while getting out on the course down here in Brighton.

Good timing Will, the weather has definitely turned, my worry is that we'll need all those at the same time!!!

Missed the last bit - Winter goals are to just try and play as much as I can, keep the swing going and not worry too much about the score. Chipping out of the mud isn't one of my strengths!

My goals this winter are to focus on my wedge game. My handicap has come down 7 shots this year and a lot of that has been down to long game improvement.

Focus is going to be getting more control with wedges. I’m also going to decide on my wedge set up early in the winter so I can practice going into the new season. I currently play 52,58 but may switch to 52, 56, 60.
