  1. So……..just replaced my SM8’s with SM10’s - like for like (almost) 52 degree 08 bounce F grind 60 degree 04 bounce L grind And 56 degree 12 bounce D grind for 10 bounce S grind All clubs have BV wedgeflex shafts and Larkin grips with 2 layers of tape.

Now, the SM10’s feel heavier and swing heavier than the SM8’s. Can anyone shed any light on this or is it my imagination?

Seriously thinking of going back to the SM8’s.

    Thanks

  2. Assuming you've got the same specs, loft, lie, length, shaft, grips etc then they shouldnt feel massivley different but the heads could weigh slightly more making them feel heavier, best way would be to get to your local pro and have them swingweight them, I think 2g extra in headweight is one swingweight point. If they're the same then it's likely you're feeling the CG of the wedge in a different place as vokey change the CG's generation to generation to improve the flights. Either that or get in the gym haha

I also swapped on a like for like basis from SM8 to SM10 and experienced the same. The swing weight in my new up set is heavier after getting them compared by my local pro. It’s taken a few rounds and a lesson but I’m now used to the different feel. Like you I did contemplate going back to the SM8s but the performance of the SM10s with brand new grooves is worth making the effort to adapt.
