In Sacramento, CA, today, 31 women who volunteer their time mentoring beginner golfers were treated to a full day of a golfers paradise! Titleist swag bag, clinics on putting, chipping, and full swing taught by Haggin Oaks’ top teaching staff, Vokey wedge demos, and a fascinating seminar on the physics of golf ball performance given by one of Titleist’s own aeronautic engineers. We learned about how a golf ball’s dimples reduce drag and that a dimple depth change of a 10,000th of an inch can cause a significant change in the quality of ball flight. I personally gained a new appreciation for how much detailed R&D go into the making of Titleist’s equipment. A delicious lunch was followed by a fun 9-hole scramble and if that wasn’t enough, the day was topped off by an awards ceremony with appetizers and drinks! Titleist’s message was clear - that their gear and products are for every golfer and not specific for any skill level, age or gender. Thanks for a perfect day, Titleist and Haggin Oaks!

That ball demonstration without dimples is something to behold. Saw it at the TTI at the Player Course a few years back. Funny. Glad Titleist did something for our lady golfers. Hope they had a blast. Nice swag. That looks like
Alan doing his thing. Great job Titleist.

Congrats Ladies, Hope you had a wonderful time. Nice to see that Haggin Oaks is still around and kicking. One of the first courses that got me hooked into this game 50 years ago while stationed at McClellan Airplane patch.

Sac area has good courses to play, Ancil Hoffman Muni, Mather, Bing Maloney, and many more....

Miss them all sometimes. Congrats to Titleist too, can't beat them from clubs, balls, bags, and accessories.

I'd say Haggin Oaks does an excellent job. As you may remember, there are two 18 hole courses; one of them they use as two 9's. They have improved the driving range over the years and now have Toptracer technology in most of the driving bays. In addition, their pro shop is well stocked with many of the latest golf items. For many golfing locals in the Sacramento area, Haggin Oaks is a destination.

I would agree that the Sacramento area has plenty of choices for those who enjoy playing golf. It's nice that you're only a few hours from Monterey and Tahoe area golf destinations.

    Abdon,
If I remember correctly, Haggin Oaks had a gun club skeet range running along some of the holes, is it still there? It use bother me sometimes when on a backswing guns would go off

Looks like a really fun event. I bet the golf ball demo was interesting to see. Great job Titleist for doing this as well. Hopefully this will lead to more women events and more women at the annual TTI
