Hear From the Experts: Mike Madson

Mike Madson joined the Titleist Golf Ball Research and Development team in 2008 as an Associate Product Development Engineer. Throughout his career, Mike has focused the majority of his efforts on golf ball aerodynamics, but his role has expanded over the years, working with and leading various groups of scientists, engineers and technicians. He now oversees the department as Vice President of Golf Ball R&D.

Mike was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO where he developed a love of math, science and sports. He attended Dartmouth College, where he lettered in baseball for four years. He graduated from Dartmouth with three degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Science, Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Engineering Management.


Mike advanced his education even further while at Titleist, earning a Master of Applied Statistics degree from Penn State University. This foundation has served him and the company well, as he is recognized as the inventor on over 160 golf patents.
