  1. After hitting the various new models, I decided to go, AGAIN, with AP2's....Wow! What an improved design and feel!!

My pro shop said they should arrive this week on the release day (10/23/15) so I am anxiously awaiting!

Anyone else order a new set? what did you go with?

I've been playing mine for a week.  There are subtle differences from the 714's that i really like.  They feel really soft.  That sounds crazy, but its the only way i can describe the feeling.  I also noticed the balls I don't center are still going pretty far.  Now obviously a toed 7 iron isnt going to carry 170 yards, but its not a huge drop off.  Two thumbs up from me!

    Chris,

Congrats on the new irons.  Keep us in the loop on how they perform once you put them in play.  I plan on waiting until spring to upgrade and will go with AP1s again (currently playing 712 AP1s).  We are rapidly heading towards the "W" word and although I will still play some as long as it's not to cold, with a new set in the house I would be way to tempted to take them out.  If they're not in the house, I won't be tempted.

I actually just bought the 714 AP2s about a month ago. I was going to wait, but I prefer the look of the 714's over the 716's I was actually going to wait for the 716 MB's because I'm coming from the VR Pro Blades but figured it was time to swallow the pride and play something a hair less demanding than an MB even tho I know I'll ended up getting a set of the 716 MB's I'm a sucker for chrome. But I'm really enjoying my time with the AP2's right now!

Had a fitting with Tom Spargo in Cranston RI. Went with AP2 5-PW KuroKage TINI 65 R Flex +1/2 inch and 1 degree strong on the lofts. At the fitting compared my 714 AP2 7 iron against the 716 AP2, no distance gain, but the 716 clearly felt more forgiving. As soon as the clubs arrive this week, headed down to Hilton Head for a 5 day test. Can not wait to hit them off turf.

Also, ordered the 816 H1 23 degree, with a Graphite Design shaft, really looking froward to trying this out..

  7. I went with T-MB's 4-pw-project X shafts.  Hope they show up soon!!

    Hi Chris:

Congratulations on your new AP-2's.  I also ordered new AP-2's (4-PW) and have been told that they have been shipped and I should have them on Friday.  In anticipation of receiving them on Friday, I have a scheduled tee time on Saturday morning to break them in.  Can't wait.

Good luck breaking in your new irons and enjoy.

After hitting the CB's and AP2's it was a tough choice but once again I went with the AP2's. Also replacing the 712u 3i with a T-MB 3i. I am awaiting notice through my FedEx app that mine are ready to ship and will be here Friday...OMG!!!

Chris, I'm as anxious as you to get my new AP2's. After demoing them and leaving a nickel size spot in the center low on the face I can't wait to put these in play. Unfortunately all I can do is look at them over the winter but that's ok knowing what's coming for the spring time. I went with the PW thru 5 iron with regular AMT shafts. The tight dispersion pattern was amazing to see on the screen. Working hard next year to take my 4.5 down to hopefully a 2.0! (That's if my achy joints will cooperate)

I, too, ordered the AP2's and was told they should be here Friday. My first set of Titleist irons, though I am currently playing forged irons, and I am very anxious. I was told that Titleist people are like Harley-Davidson people. I am a Harley person so I am ready to see if the feeling is the same. I bought a 915 D2 driver 2 weeks ago... so if the irons are as close to as playable as the driver, I will be one very happy camper.

I too ordered the 716AP2s and can't wait for Friday for them to arrive! I have been playing the DG X100 shafts in my clubs for years and will be trying out the DG AMT X100 shafts in the new AP2s. I spent a good deal of time hitting these shafts from the Titleist Tour Van and think they will be a good addition and match for my game. I also ordered a 816H2 which should be on its way too. It will hard to improve upon the 915Hd, but I am excited to put the new hybrid in play.

My AP2 716's will hopefully be arriving Friday as well. the pro at club told me this past Saturday that they have already been invoiced. Which should be a good sign for them to arrive Friday.

    716 AP2's 5-PW

KBS Tour Stiff (Hard Stepped) with an extra 3/4" length

Irons are bumped 2* strong and 3* upright and Black Lampkin R.E.L. grips

Just writing that up gets my boat floating (if you know what I mean)

Congratulations! I've been religious with Titleist and simply love the AP2s. I currently play with the 714s and love them--but am always looking for that extra zing in my game. I bought the 712u #2 and fell in love with it! I'm never afraid to swing it in any condition ... With that when the 716 T-MB came out, more or less I was pretty damn intrigued. I read, watched videos, talked to sellers in Japan who had the T-MBs out since last spring. I didn't want a fat soled game improvement club, but I did want a club with a similar weighting and swing feel as the AP2, the forgiveness of the AP2, and the capacity to move the ball and longer with the beautiful look of the MBs ... Well I did it--I'm waiting on my T-MBs to arrive. The clubhead is almost exact to size of the AP2, forgiveness of the AP2, the look, workability and length of the AP2 & MB ... This club is a "hybrid" of Titleist 3 major clubs, that being the AP2, MB and also the CB (hidden by the MB backside, but created by the tungsten weighting in the toe and heel, creating a cavity-like component to the club. Needless to say, I'm super excited about this set of clubs. The only concern is that they are not forged, so the buttery soft feel at impact has been sacrificed for ultimately distance .......

Is anyone else getting the 716 T-MB? The set I'm hoping to receive on Friday is 4-PW with an added inch in length and 1* upright. I can't wait to swing 'em, but a little scared that my hopes in what they'll look like, feel like and perform like my be a pipe dream?!? Wish me luck boys and girls!!

good luck to you all awaiting your new clubs ... Semper Fi

    I ordered a mixed set:

    • 4 iron T-MB
    • 5, 6 irons  CB
    • 7-PW  MB
The MBs have arrived (and they look beautiful!) the others unfortunately are on backorder.....

Congrats to Chris and everyone on here getting the new set!  Looking forward to hearing your results.

I'm waiting until next Spring and hoping to make a time with Manchester Lane to get fitted.  Currently gaming the 714 AP1s but thinking of trying out the AP2s as well since I'm hearing it's more forgiving.   I'll give both a shot and see how it goes.

    Chris:

I decided to trade in my 714 AP-2's for 716 AP-2's (4-PW).  I ordered the AP-2's about three weeks ago.  Well, the golf store I ordered them through, called this afternoon to tell me they arrived.  I picked them up just a little while ago, two days early.  They are gorgeous.  I can't wait to try them out on Saturday.

Chris where did you trade your AP2's 714in for the new 716. And how much credit where you given. I am anxious to do the same but I'm not sure who will take them in as a trade. Thanks Philip B
