    What are your thoughts on how the 2020 Masters will be affected by the current landscape of sports/world health?

    This is all over and the Masters is played on time? Played on time with no fans (personally I think that would be pretty cool to see)? Pushed back a couple months? Played in the fall? Cancelled in it's entirety?

    I think cancelled for this year is a very strong possibility. This will be unfortunate as it is my favourite tournament.

    I think it’ll be a May date. That’s what they are telling the leadership at Augusta. But with if the pandemic is not curved by then I definitely see it being cancelled.

    They close the course from May to September. Most likely sometime in October or November....

    I agree with Nicklaus. I don't believe there will be a Masters this year. Sad :(

    While a fall date would be nice it still would not push away football (NCAA or NFL). Imagine the dilemma CBS would have...WWJD? (What Would Jim Do)

    Just read the announcement from the PGA Tour, 4 more tourneys have been cancelled - RBC Heritage (April 13-19); Zurich Classic of New Orleans (April 20-26); Wells Fargo Championship (April 27-May 3); and AT&T Byron Nelson (May 7-10). Along with those cancelations the PGA of America has postponed the PGA Championship (May 14-17) for a date later this year, to be announced. Now I'm wondering about the Ryder Cup...

    In order to get the four majors in this year, am betting on the PGA doing some shifting in the fall to work the Masters and the PGA Championships in.

    With the course closed during the hottest months, I suspect perhaps October. But there again, as mentioned by others, you run headlong into the NFL and NCAA football seasons. So who knows. And while this is a small part of the viewing audience, I know people like my mother watch the Masters just for the visual appeal of the azaleas in full bloom. I'm guessing the players would want an October date, just because to miss the tournament would leave a hole in their collective golf psyche.

    Going through the summer months, won't the grass die making the course brown for TV? Just wondering if that will affect the decisions because Augusta always wants its prettiest face forward and I couldn't imagine a Masters with brown grass. Just curious everybody's thoughts

    I heard that Merion could be a possible replacement, if necessary, for the US Open, if they decide to play it.

    Bring the US Open back to Pinehurst Resort. Use both #2 and #4. Wouldn't that be wonderful to watch?

    With the new date for the Masters and SEC football being king that time of the year, wonder how many games will be scheduled to be played that night. Especially the Tennessee and Georgia game in Athens. If it is a day game, might see a few big screens around the course. Thinking this game will be a night game. The games to be played on Nov 14th.....just sayin'....go vols....

    Chuck Z, Billy Horschel made the comment that a lot of players will be breaking Augusta’s no cell phone policy to keep up with the football scores. Will be interesting, any other tour event would be overshadowed, but The Masters will have people channel surfing for sure. Oh almost forgot Go Dawgs!!!

    The players may break the rules, but the patrons, that is another story. They will take them at the gate. We are rebuilding as you know and will be a big underdog to you guys. But with Pruitt and Chaney on board, we will be back where we belong. Defense first and the offense will follow. Our recruiting is looking much better. Picking up some great recruits out of GA, FL, AL, for a change. Lane Kiffin is back in the SEC, maybe he has finally found a home at Ole Miss. Oh, there is only one Dawg.......

    My prediction is that the Tournament will be cancelled and played next year 2021.
    As soon as there is an outbreak from one of the earlier rescheduled events the tour will shut down and the rest will follow.

    Hope I'm wrong but things are not right.

    Back to the original post regarding the Masters. Definitely going to be played but without fans. Announced yesterday. What a blow to the communities of Augusta, North Augusta and Aiken, SC. Received an email today regarding tickets for next year, that those holding tickets for this year would get first choice (replacement) and if any left then rest would be allotted to those on April 2021 list. No commercials, no fans, just golf, the Masters at it's best. No patrons or guests, in the words of the Chairman of Augusta National. Guess all of our questions are answered. At least is being played.
