Since I received a NEW set of 714 AP2 irons for my recent retirement gift, my new years resolution is to replace my 913 series woods with a complete 915 series set (Driver, Fairways, Hybrid) to complement my irons, wedges and Dual Balance putter.
Now I will be 100% Titleist. 62 years old and my handicap is going down not up (currently 5) so much fun to be able to do this at my age. Still have 105 mph driver swing speed. Fun Fun.

1. Walk more.
2. Develop pre shot putting routine. No more rushing putts
3. Be consistent off the tee.

This year has been my first year golfing. I was in 7th grade this spring, and I decided to play golf on my school team (we go to the local par 3 course 4 days a week after school.) While I was playing this spring I developed a love for the great game of golf. At the beginning of the season I was using a junior's set of clubs and was typically shooting in the mid 50's. My immediate goal was to break 100 this year. I got my first full iron set when I joined my local junior tour. I eventually lowered my scores to the mid 40's and won a few events on my local tour. When I played my first 18 hole round, I shot 98! I began to work harder and set my next goal to break 90. 2 months later I shot 89. I am now working with a swing coach at my home course, who introduced me to Titleist. My average round is in the low 80's and I am really hoping to attain my next goal before the season ends (break 80). Recently I have shot 81 and 83. I am really happy to have found another sport which I truly love, since I used to play hockey and I got my 4th concussion from that spring of 2014 and was forced to quit. This golf season has taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined and I am excited to work indoors this winter and set higher goals for next year.

I think i did alright.. my goal was to stick to my pre-shot routine and take my time in between shots. It's been one of my better years of playing and definitely a fun summer of golf playing with some great people...
I am sad to see the season come to an end soon though... Damn you winter!

My biggest resolution for golf is to lose weight and get more athletic. I'm tired of finishing 18 and feeling drained (I usually walk). Also, I would like to break 80 this year so getting rid of 3-putts and minimizing double bogies are a big goal as well.
As to the OPs resolution, I think that the pre-shot routine is a good one. I drilled a good pre-shot routine into my game and follow it every time regardless of how well I'm playing. I actually played one round where I started off horribly (like I had never played before kind of bad), but I stuck with my routine, started playing better, and at the end of the round one of my playing partners (a complete stranger to me) complimented me on it. Said he thought it was going to be a long day when I started out, but that he was impressed to see me stick with my routine and pull it together. Wound up shooting a similar score to the rest of the group.

I would like the strength of my short game to equal the quality of my ball striking. Currently, I can hit more than 11-12 greens per round but do not make enough birdie putts or up and downs.
