I had the privilege to play Red Sky Ranch in Colorado a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to catch it during the peak fall colors. This is the Norman Course.
We went hiking afterwards!

Just finished my fall tour of Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Trail. Have now played all eleven locations and all twenty-six courses. For late in the season the courses were in pretty good shape, leaves were beginning to fall and some of the grass was going dormant. Four weeks of great golf, good food, and some site seeing.
Our first and last stop was The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, AL. Played eight rounds on Fighting Joe this trip. This is one of my favorite par 3's on Fighting Joe.
Next stop was to Hampton Cove near Huntsville, AL. Two courses at this location, one is bent grass, the other is Bermuda. The River course has the Bermuda and is the only course on the Trail that has no bunkers. Trent Jones made the River course very difficult without including sand. Hampton Cove had the fastest greens this trip.
One of my favorite sites is Grand National. Two courses, I prefer the Links course and got in four rounds this trip. The Links course wraps around a lake and generally there is always wind in play.
A favorite par 3.
Number 18, one tough par 4 finishing hole. Very shallow green that's extremely wide.
Down to Point Clear, Alabama for a few days playing a couple very mature courses. The oak trees with the moss hanging down is pretty cool.
At the course hotel each evening after a grueling day on the course it was good to sit and have a martini and watch kids try out putting. Balls and putters for everyone, no Scotty's.
After playing at Lakewood we spent a day looking at houses on Daufin Island. We signed a lease for January thru March on this one, Wife wants beach time this winter. A ferry ride and I'll be able to take in Kiva Dunes a couple time this winter.
Next stop was a couple days at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, AL. As a member of the trail, this is my home course.
Next stop was to Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley near Birmingham. Ross Bridge is my favorite course. The bag piper played me in on number 18. Just what I needed while playing a difficult finishing hole with a bagpipe wailing away.
Back in Ohio again. Now for the long wait till January's return trip.

Allen and many others, great pics and thanks to all for sharing. I played a very interesting course in Columbus, OH yesterday which used to be a private course and now a municipality owned City course; Champions Golf Course. The leaves were down in many areas and they were changing colors nicely for the season. I wish I would have seen this thread as many great pics were to be had.
Allen, I love the trail and I need to get down there for more exploration of great golf.
This thread makes me want to trip to travel the country and realize that I need to play more golf!!
I will take more pics in the coming weeks!!

Last week the weather has been unreal; 60-70 degrees.. Just unheard of in New Hampshire this time of year and boy did i take advantage of it.. Took a few 1/2 days from work to play my course Portsmouth CC. Here are a few pics;
1st hole. Just aim for the colors...
4th hole, Par 5
There's my ball in the rough, thankfully no leaves were around...
5th hole par 3 along the great bay..

This thread is fantastic! Love seeing these pictures. In fact, they just inspired me to go play a quick round today while the weather will still allow.

Played likely my last round of the year the other day now that we are losing the unseasonable warm weather here in NW Indiana (Chicago). Here are some pictures from the round at Sandy Pines Golf Club in Demotte, Indiana. Actually shot my personal best 9 hold score, a +1, 37, on the front, so I was pretty excited about that. Love everyone else's pictures.
