Everyone talks about making changes in their lives for New Years' resolutions. But, what are your golf related ones?

My goals the last few years have been relatively simple.  I've realized I'm never going to be a pro golfer and will probably be an average to above average all of my life.  So I want to enjoy my time on the course more.  Next year I would also like to get out more and begin to take my daughter with me.  I took her with me once last year and she loved it.

Good question and a great post, Mitchk2 !! For me, I'd like to maintain and continue to improve my short game as a priority. All other parts of my game, I'll work on maintaining a playable/serviceable next shots. I know that's a lot to ask for, but if I had extra time (I hope) I'd also like to add and play a couple extra rounds on weekdays in a month- have not done that in a long while. But, as long as I'm able to devote time and do the work on those mentioned in good health, and at the same time as long as I'm clear in understanding of what I'm working on with the time I spend in it, I won't have any complaints and I'll be happy- Promise!

I kept at the resolution to work on strength and flexibility for a year now. Has been a significant part in dropping my handicap by 4 strokes. For the coming year, I'm happy with what's in the bag, so getting on course twice a week if even for 6 holes every week is one. The hardest commitment will be trading rice and bread for veggies to drop 20 pounds. That will improve the benefit of the workouts. All part of the goal to drop another 4 strokes and break 84

Well I am at that point in my life where my kids are into everything.  I have to make time for practice and playing.  The great thing is my kids love to go to the course with me and just play.  With that being said, I haven't been taking golf as serious as I once did.  2015 was different and I am going to build off of 2015 next year.  I have one very simple goal.  We have a Ryder Cup type of tournament in our area.  Many of the clubs from Southern Missouri participate.  My club has had their share of SEMO Cup victories, but this last year we didn't do so well.  My goal for 2016 is to bring the Cup back home!  I am going to qualify for our team this year, and hopefully play well enough to lift our team to another victory.  I feel like my game is very close.  I am working very hard analyzing my swing to make the proper changes to maintain consistency.  Fairways and Greens will be my main goal throughout the year.  Avoid the big numbers, and keep the putts to a minimum.  2016 will be a good golf year!

I want to win the club championship.  I've been in the final group on Sunday the last two years.  It's time to put three good rounds together...

Well I am a junior in high school right now and I would love to start to get the attention of some college coaches. Also, I would love to qualify for the Georgia Amateur this year.

Family goal: To join one of our local clubs, which seems to be falling into place quicker than expected.

Personal: Net my first ace at said club, or any course, for that matter. Also to consistently score in the lower 70's rather than the upper 70's. Break into the 1-2 handicap rather than 3-5

Great question!!  My first goal is the continuance of becoming more fit.  I started just before Thanksgiving, being serious about it.  I use an app for tracking my calorie intake and fitness.  I'm halfway to my first goal of losing 20 lbs and have shown signs of being more fit and flexible.  I was able to play a couple rounds last week, which isn't often in winter in Indiana.  My first specific golf goal is to win Club Championship, I choose to bump up to Champ Flight rather than play A Flight, as only the Champ plays the back tee's, which is where I play the majority of the time.  I'm just outside the hdcp cutoff, so it's not that big a deal and it is where I play anyways.  Unlike half in Champ who usually play the white, until this Tournament.  Next, would be to increase my enjoyment of the game, I've always taken it pretty serious, which has hindered me some I think.  I will still be serious, but, really going to focus on enjoying it more and relaxing more while playing.  Also, hoping my kids who are all young men, are able to join me more often, and also getting the wife out to play some.  Still without a HIO and would be nice to finally get one, and lower my previous best round ever, -3.  Which was done on an away course, -2 is my personal home course best.

Improve my iron play. Increasing GIR would lead to lower scores.

I have spent the better part of two years working on my irons and Driver distance and accuracy.  This off season and up coming year I am getting back to perfecting my short game.  i ignored it a lot and it showed in my scoring.

It used to be my Go To part of my game.  That's my Resolution

Just had my hip replaced. Hopefully will be getting back playing  in the spring. I'd like to get back down. But will be happy to get on the course with my friends. I haven't played since July 4th. Merry Xmas and happy holiday to all.

My goals for 2106 are to properly prepare and follow a practice routine that reduces my lapses in concentration because they always lead to mental errors that always lead to score creep. Moreover take that discipline to the field with the understanding that brings more fun and patience to the game.

I have had a few health issues the past couple years, primary problem detached retina in left eye left me with 30/150. Can't take clubs all the way back without losing sight of ball. My wish is to get off the back foot and hit it a bit longer!

Great question! I know I need to work on my short game. I only hit about 27% of GIR. If I can get that to 50%, I could get my hdcp back under double digits. I currently play to a 12.3. and if I could get that under control I would be happy.

My goal is to take my practice rounds and range & short game work to the course when it really counts!!!  When I'm at the range or working on short game I'm dialed in,  but as soon as I tee it up for real i seem to forget everything I've been working on  (so frustrating ).. Anyway that my goal ..STOP CHOKING.... GO   TEAM TITLEIST

I turned 72 last week and found my handicap has gone up over nine months from a 5 to a 10. Even though I'm depressed about it,I'm resolving to return it to a 5.

I'm hoping 2016 brings me my first hole in one. I've scored a hole in par a few years back, but that's a long story. I've never gotten to write a 1 on the card. I got my handicap briefly into the -4s this year, I'd like to improve a little on that. I'm full Titleist through the bag now, with my AP1 716s I'm hoping I"ll be able to hit a few more greens in the coming year.
  26. To break 80 and play more consistent.

For me, I take it one season at a time.  Every year gets better and better.  I've played golf for over 40 years and still to this day, do not have a hole-in-one.  It's on my bucket list, wished I could buy it.  Guess I'll have to earn it.

My goal this year along with the above is to remove all 3 putts from my game.  A major goal but can be accomplished, I plan to do so in 2016.  My game is on track, just not quite as sharp as it could be.  Grip it and rip it!

The same as the last 10 years since I got back into golf seriously.  To break 80 and have a season where I don't shoot over a 100 for a round.
