If you're a member of a Club, go to the Club. You're not going to pay anything more, Titleist like most major manufacturers don't discount their clubs to large retailers any more than the local "green grass" club. Personally I like the "little guy" and I know that I get much better service from the local guy than a "Big Box" retailer. Now with that said, if you don't have a Club you belong too, and don't feel comfortable going somewhere "strange" going to a Club, the Titleist Certified retailer will do fine, especially if you have a relationship with them.

michael - my opinion is to go to a certified fitter/clubmaker, preferably one with a heated shed or bay (for those of us in the colder climates) that you can hit balls outside instead of into a simulator. good luck and let us know how your fitting went!

Hi Michael, If you can't make it to Manchester Ln MA or Oceanside, I would ensure your fitter has a launch monitor and hopefully an outdoor and grass hitting area. Getting fit off a mat is better than nothing, but there's a big difference vs grass. Good luck!

I've done three "real" fittings in the last 15 years, one at Golfsmith, one at a Teaching Academy and my third was at a Club Champion location outside of Chicago. The Golfsmith fitting was OK, the Teaching Academy fitting was better but Club Champion was far and away the best and most informative fitting of the three. They allowed me to hit several different head and shaft combinations and see the change in performance on their Trackman system. If you happen to live near any of the Club Champion locations I don't think you will be disappointed.

If you aren't able to get to Club Champion I would make sure that the location you choose has a launch monitor and someone who has some experience interpreting the numbers so they steer you to the club/shaft combination that best fits your swing. Good luck with your fitting!

I prefer a green grass account, mostly because I like supporting a local PGA (and Titleist) professional.

A retailer often uses a net and launch monitor, but there's nothing like actually seeing the ball flight and feeling interaction with real turf.

    Just my two cents.

I went to my local Golf Galaxy a few years ago and got fitted with their Trackman. All in all it was a good experience and am confident with the suggestions the master fitter made from the Trackman results. If you're near them I hear nothing but great things from Club Champion, Modern Golf in Toronto, and TrueSpec. These 3 are high end fitters and think you will have an amazing experience. You obviously can always hit up either of Titleist's fitting experience locations as well. GL!
  8. Search for Advanced fitting on titleist website. Club champion is waste of money

Your best bet would be to find a Titleist Thursday to get fit at. This will be with a Titleist Rep and most will have Trackman.

Here is a link to the Titleist Thrsday fittings: www.titleist.com/thursdays

Next best bet would be to find a fitter here: www.titleist.com/locator

  12. Fellow TT Members...here's an update! Thank you again for all of the input and suggestions regarding the fitting!! We would have loved to get out to Oceanside for the TPI Fitting experience, but I couldn't wait for my next trip to out to CA. Fortunately, earlier this month, I was able to find a certified fitter here in Metro Detroit who did a very good job and my new AP2s arrived this past Tuesday!!! I'm beyond excited!!!
