Hey Team Titleist!
The tour seeding and validation process for our NEW T-Series irons is officially underway! This week at The Memorial Tournament, #TeamTitleist was able to experience the next generation of the most played iron on the PGA TOUR for the first time.
Join us on the range at Muirfield Village to hear what players had to say:
First up: Lee Hodges.
From the Tour Truck to the range, we joined Hodges on Monday morning to watch (and capture!) every moment of his first experience with his NEW T100 4, 5 and 6 irons. (Lee carries a mixed set of T100s and CBs.)
“That 6-iron might be the best club I’ve ever it in my whole life,” Hodges said after his first few swings with the new club.
On Thursday at Muirfield - his first competitive round with the new models - he gained over four strokes on the field on approach shots alone. It’s safe to say he’s a fan.
Lanto Griffin, who also games T100 irons (4-9), commented on the feel of the new models.
“I mean, we hit balls all the time,” Griffin said. “So we have a pretty good idea (if) we put a good swing on it, and we get a good feel if we look up and the ball's doing exactly what we felt, then that's a good club. That's what you get with the T100.”
What stood out to T100 player Peter Malnati about the new models? The dispersion of his mishits.
“See that's spectacular. That was a poor contact push and I've hit it to 12 feet, 15 feet like that. ... The best praise I can give of these irons is that was a lousy shot, and I got a birdie putt that I'm gonna go have a chance to make.”
Malnati also tested a NEW T350 iron... and after just one strike, he liked what he saw.
A NEW U•505 utility iron made its way into the hands of Brian Harman, as he striped one 2-iron after another:
Harman also tested a NEW T200 3 iron, giving us the ultimate mic drop after just a few hits:
“That’s a nice golf club right there.”
